INTRODUCING JOSUMA COFFEE COMPANY
Josuma Coffee Company is in its nineteenth year of operation. During the last eighteen years, its revenue has grown at a steady rate of nearly 20% per annum, compounded. The company has been profitable every year, including its first year of operation.
The company was established in the San Francisco Bay area to function as an effective link between the coffee growers of India and the coffee consuming public in North America.
Josuma Coffee Company imports high grade Specialty Coffees exclusively from India for distribution to wholesale roasters and roaster retailers in the US and Canada. It does not handle any commercial grade coffee.
Josuma also roasts several of the coffees it imports and sells them to high end coffee shops and espresso bars throughout the US and Canada.
Its flagship product is a Northern Italian style espresso, Malabar Gold Supreme, that is sold as fresh roasted whole beans. It also sells Malabar Gold, its world famous espresso blend in a ready to roast green form.

AVAILABLE: MYSORE NUGGETS EXTRA BOLD COFFEE
We have been importing this grade of coffee for many years. However, in past crop years, we were able to secure only enough coffee that meet our stringent quality standards, to satisfy the requirements of those roasters who had made firm contractual commitments for this grade of coffee.
For the first time, we have been able to secure a limited number of extra bags of Mysore Nuggets EB coffee to enable us to accommodate more roasters than we had in the past. These include coffees from Harley, Sunticoppa, Goorghully , Mylemoney, Jumboor, Nullore and Margolly Estates in the Chikmagalur and Coorg Growing Regions.
Mysore Nuggets Extra Bold is considered the best of the best of all Arabica from India. It is a 19-screen coffee obtained by re-grading washed Arabica coffee from selected growing regions. Most important, this grade does not tolerate any defects; that it has to be hand garbled to be defect free, an expensive and labor intensive process.
In the cup, it is medium-to-high in acidity, medium in body, highly aromatic and displays a chocolaty spiciness that is uniquely Indian.

Dear Recipient:
You are receiving this e-mail because of your active involvement in the Specialty coffee industry. When you recently registered for a coffee event, you also "opted in" to receive coffee information from people in this industry, like us.
This also constitutes an invitation for you to "join our mailing list" to receive future issues of our coffee related newsletter, Indian Coffee Review. Such issues will cover green coffee, roasted coffee as well as espresso related information.
Indian Coffee Review is an attempt to revive this newsletter that was published for four years, early in our company's existence. It had to be discontinued because of the cost, both in terms of time and dollars, in producing and distributing a printed version. Although time is still an issue, we hope to get some relief in costs through the use of the Internet.
When you sign up below, you may select one or more lists, depending on your interests. We encourage you to indicate your areas of interest even if you have been receiving our e-mails for some time, as we are rebuilding our mailing lists based on people's specific interest.
Should you not be interested in receiving future issues of this newsletter, you may safely unsubscribe, at any time.
Sincerely,
Dr. Joseph John, President

GREEN COFFEE ARTICLES
From time to time, we will have articles covering various aspects of green coffee from India . This will include items relating to the horticultural practices in India, how coffee is processed at origin, and other green coffee related news.
Of particular interest to readers should be the whole class of Monsooned coffees, both Arabica and Robusta, as to how the coffees are procured, how they are processed and their best uses.
We will also detail the washed Arabica coffees, Plantation-A's and the Mysore Nuggets Extra Bold grades.
Indian produces some of the best Robusta in the world. No newsletter about Indian coffees can be complete without devoting some space to these priciest of Robusta.

We offer only three coffees in the fresh roasted whole bean form. These are coffees you cannot get from any other source. We do not carry any of the commonly available roasted coffees.
First of these is Monsoon Medley that uses the Monsooned Malabar-AA Super Grade, the lowest acid coffee in the world, as its base. Many of our customers use this as their house coffee. This is a stomach friendly coffee for those who are affected by acidic coffees from Africa and Central America.
The second roasted coffee we offer is Mysore Mystic, a single estate coffee that is shade grown at about 4000 feet in elevation. What makes this coffee unique is the way it is roasted and blended. It is triple-roasted. The third coffee we offer roasted is our flagship product, our premium European espresso, Malabar Gold Supreme. It is a Northern Italian style espresso blend that is light roasted to preserve the flavors of the individual coffee beans. It provides a sweet, smooth, mellow espresso with lots of body. Rich, velvety, and persistent crema it produces in copious amounts is particularly noteworthy.
We will have more on these coffees in future issue.

Many consider Dr. Joseph John, President of Josuma Coffee Company, a world expert on espresso extraction. He has already sent out four issues relating to his view that "an overwhelming majority of espresso made in North America, whether consumed directly or in milk based beverages, is not espresso at all." He will share his significant insight into this process from time to time.
