The Eagle's Cry

. . . when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security.

Corpse Flower
The tyranny of our elected officials, much like the corpse flower that blooms once every 40 years, is now in full, stinky bloom. The architects of a health care "reform" bill whose details Nancy Pelosi says should be passed so we "can find out what's in it," are now considering passing a rule to say that they passed a bill, so they can have the cover of saying that they voted for the "rule," instead of voting for the bill. All of this in direct violation of The Constitution:

"Every Bill which shall have passed the House of Representatives and the Senate, shall, before it become a Law, be presented to the President of the United States; If he approve he shall sign it, but if not he shall return it, with his Objections to that House in which it shall have originated, who shall enter the Objections at large on their Journal, and proceed to reconsider it. If after such Reconsideration two thirds of that House shall agree to pass the Bill, it shall be sent, together with the Objections, to the other House, by which it shall likewise be reconsidered, and if approved by two thirds of that House, it shall become a Law."

In addition to this flagrant violation of the Constitution, the Democrats have attached legislation for the government to take over the student loan program as a sweetener for the Democrats that are on the fence. This is legislation is presumed to have little chance of passing on its own. Attaching it to the healthcare bill will avoid debate, and control of student loans will allow government direction in a student's course of study and ultimately their career path. The payback of a student loan would depend on whether a person went into government work or the private sector. Guess which one is favored?

Our core principles state that we will support and defend the Constitution of the United States. This is what we must do - and the time to act is NOW!

Tea Party Patriots is organizing a March at the Capitol on Tuesday. Most of you will not be able to attend, but they have a comprehensive list of the Congress members and where they stand on the legislation. Scroll down on the page, you will find the members to contact yourself, then forward this to every person in your address book that lives in that Congress member's state to blast them as well. If you are in Allen Boyd's district, you may want to make the trip to 30 W. Government St., Panama City and look them in the eye.

The urgency of this mission cannot be overstated.
Candidate's Forum
March 9, 2010 the Fort Walton Tea Party held a forum for the candidates vying for the District 4 State Representative position. About 225 people attended at the Grace Tabernacle in FWB. The candidates were asking a variety of questions submitted by Tea Party members.

A straw poll was conducted at the conclusion of the forum and the results are: Craig Barker - 67, Matt Gaetz-37, Kabe Woods -22, Jerry Melvin-15, Bill Garvie-13, Undecided-13 with 167 people voting.

Thank you to Grace Tabernacle for hosting us and to our sponsors - Ft. Walton Glass Company, The Chief Handyman, Gulf Coast Detailing, Whitrock Associates, Tropical Yacht Sales & Brokerage, The Passionate Patriot and The Backyard Outlet.

Thanks to Ken Nielson of Crestview Community Television who videoed the entire forum. The video can be watched at www.wcvctv.com.
Garage Sale - Great Success
Thank you to the many who helped make the Ft Walton Beach Tea Party Fundraiser Garage Sale a Big Success!  We sold almost everything and made lots of money.  People came early but we were ready for them.  Too many volunteers to mention but we thank all that helped:  Pricing, setup, selling, special pickups and of course we could not have done it without the donations of treasures and baked goods.   Special mention:  Thank you, Hilda, for arranging the generous donation of Christine Weeks' Estate (a Patriot who passed this week), Coach-N-Four Steakhouse for the use of the parking lot and Coastal Carpet & Tile for the use of the moving truck.

We also had the "Liberty Eagles"  protesting on the street and waving their flags and signs in the strong wind.   We found a lot of support and also introduced new Patriots to our Tea Party organization.   Look for slide show on our YouTube page.
Thanks to YOU for the NEW Website
Thanks to your generous contributions, the new website is up and mostly running. Please read the thank-you from Chris Saccomanno. The BLOG and the EVENTS CALENDAR can be found there as well.

FL House Bill 315 - Stop Gun Registration
HB-315 is a bill to STOP Florida adoption agencies from forcing potential adoptive parents to register their firearms with the agency as a condition of adoption.  Further, it will stop agencies from forcing these parents to follow gun control regulations regarding storage of firearms and ammunition created by the agency.

Copy all of the FL Representatives email addresses as one block, then paste into the "To:" space in a new email. Paste SUPPORT HB-315 -- Stop Gun Registration by Adoption Agencies in the subject line.
Census Information
1776
More than $50 million dollars of your tax money was spent to send you a letter telling you that the 2010 Census would be sent to you. Many have expressed outrage at the questions that are coming our way.

Our Constitution requires the enumeration of citizens every 10 years in order to determine the number of Congressional Representatives. The Census Bureau is spending $14 billion dollars to count us, including advertising that says it's purpose is to "get your fair share of stuff." THIS IS WRONG.

Here is the government's Official Census Site where you may see the actual questions. This site discusses the constitutionality of answering or not answering anything other than what is required by our Constitution. It will be a decision each of us will have to make.
