                      | Feature Article Pentathlon Tradition Continues

On Saturday, May 5, eighteen sixth grade students participated in the Orange County Academic Pentathlon. This one day event provided an opportunity for our students of all ability levels to engage in an academic competition that evaluated their performance in five content areas: social science, science, math, literature, and essay. The competition attracted eighty-six teams from public and private schools throughout Orange County. Since January, the two teams prepared with their teachers, Mr. Calabria, Mrs. Cameron, and Miss Patterson. Their dedication and teamwork paid large dividends. In Division 1A, the most challenging division, both teams took home over 80 individual and team medals! This is an outstanding feat!!   In the Super Quiz round, the Fairmont Panthers took first place and the Fairmont Mable team took second. Overall, the Fairmont Panthers won second place, and the Fairmont Mable team came in third.   Congratulations to our magnificent pentathletes:
