Chapman University The Fairmont family invites you to join us at our inaugural expo event as we celebrate the new year and launch our 2011 Academic Report Card. Experience the Preschool-High School academic and summer programs offered by our five OC schools.Exhibits include musical performances, student panels, art gallery, academic outcomes, college outlook presentations, and more. During the months of January and February, Mable Campus will host Grade Level Information Meetings. These meetings will be held in the library and will showcase each grade level. We encourage parents to attend the meetings for the grade(s) their child(ren) will be in next school year. The teachers for each grade level will attend the meetings to answer question that you may have. Childcare will be offered at each evening meeting. Students can come play games and watch a movie under the supervision of the Student Services staff or they can work on homework in a quiet room. This year, children that come to child care will be offered cheese pizza, a drink, and a snack. If you will utilize child care for any of the evening meetings, please R.S.V.P. to Karen Saturday at the following email address: ksaturday@fairmontschools.com. Each grade level meeting will also have an encore presentation the morning after the evening meeting. 2nd Grade Information Meetings- Tuesday, January 24, at 6:00 p.m. AND Wednesday, January 25 , at 8:45 a.m.

Feature Article
Mable Students Score High at the American Math Competition Last November 15, 2011, the Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II/Trigonometry, and Pre-Calculus classes participated in the 27th Annual Contest American Mathematics Competition 8. The purpose of this contest is to spur interest in mathematics and develop talent through the excitement of friendly competition at problem solving in a timed format. The AMC 8, first offered in 1985, is an annual project sponsored by the Mathematical Association of America, and is located at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
Our school was awarded a Certificate of Merit for having a team score of 50 or better. For the top scoring student in our school, a winner pin was given to Ejay C.. Honor Roll Certificates were given to Ejay C., Derrick L., Tara F., Kyle K., Jimmy W., and Matthew L. who score in approximately the top 5% of all scores, this year a score of 17. Kyle K. received the Certificate of Achievement given to 6th grade and below students who score 15 or better in the contest. First, second and third place certificates were given to the top three students in each class. Below is the list:
