Success at Sage Hill Math Invitational
On March 12, seven junior high students participated in the Sage Hill Mathematics Invitational. The goal of this team-based competition is to promote and celebrate mathematics by providing a fun environment for middle school students to collaborate and share their interests.
Mable's seventh grade team consisted of David Kwon as team captain, Kaitlynn Cho and Tarek Sahyoun. Their team was awarded the third place overall team winner. The eighth grade team consisted of Justin Lee as team captain, Joshua Chen, Ryan Han and Meeran Ismail. They received first place in five categories of the competition: Mental Math, Algebra, Data Analysis and Probability, Reasoning and Proof and Measurement and were awarded second place overall team winner. Ryan Han had a perfect score in Mental Math.
