There are a couple of new items for your attention.
- The new Software License Order Form will help you streamline the ordering process.
- Invoices for the BMS Participation Fee will be mailed to school districts next week.

Software License Order Form

PLTW is excited to announce a new tool to help you streamline the process to obtain software through PLTW.
One of the most significant benefits of the new Software License Order Form is a 72-hour turnaround for delivery of software after submitting the form and receipt of a purchase order/credit card information
You can find the Software License Order Form in the Program Support section of the PLTW website.
- Software that is fulfilled by PLTW can be ordered on this form.
- All other software can be ordered directly from the provider or downloaded from the PLTW Virtual Academy.
The software programs and packages that can be ordered through this form include:
- CIM Bundle
- CNC Motion
- EdgeCam
- LabVIEW
- Logger Pro
- Multisim
- OpenCIM
- ROBOTC
- RoboCell
- Ultiboard

BMS Participation Fee Invoices

All schools registered to implement one or more PLTW Biomedical Sciences (BMS) courses for the 2012-13 school year will be invoiced the annual BMS participation fee.
The invoices will be mailed at the beginning of May to the district for each participating school, and are due on August 1, 2012. Schools that register for BMS courses after May 2 will be invoiced accordingly.
If you would like to send PLTW a Purchase Order (PO) for the BMS participation fee, you can email the PO to Veronica Wiltsee.

Spring Student Assessment Period Now Open

As a reminder, the Spring Student Assessment Period opened on Monday, April 23 and will run through Friday, June 15.
Please review these reminders as you prepare for this testing cycle:
- All end of course assessments need to completed by June 15.
- The number of items on the assessments has remains 40, however this year students are allowed up to 60 minutes to complete the assessments.
- A new Computer Integrated Manufacturing (CIM) Part C Assessment has been developed for those schools currently utilizing the VEX Robotics platform. Schools using VEX Robotics equipment may contact Kristin Donlon for a copy of the new CIM Part C.
- If your school submitted a student population file, your students are in the Student Assessment System. You can go ahead and create your classes.
- The Bulk Upload Process is closed. If yuor school did not submit a student population file, you will need to manually enter your students.
- The national means and standard deviations for the 2011-12 fall/winter testing cycle will be released on the PLTW Student Assessment forum in the coming week.
- The Assessment & Evaluation Web page provides teachers with updated information on the End of Course assessments, FAQs and a new Teacher Training Video.
- All End of Course Assessment documents can be found on the PLTW Extranet, under the Materials link. These documents include:
- Concept Maps
- IEP/504 Accommodation Request Forms
- Engineering Formula Sheets
- EoC Rules and Guidelines.

Register to Host a Gateway Academy

The curriculum for the Gateway Academy summer camp has been updated and is now available on the Virtual Academy for those schools that have submitted a registration form to host a camp this summer.
Registration will remain open through May 1. Additional information and registration forms are available on the PLTW website.

REMINDER: i3 Grant Applications Now Available

As a reminder, the U.S. Department of Education is inviting applications for new "Scale-up" and "Validation" grants available through its Investing in Innovation (i3) fund.
The 2012 Scale-up and Validation competitions will fund projects across five priority areas including promoting STEM education.
Learn more about the i3 Fund to see if your school or partnership may be ideal for an i3 grant to support your PLTW programs.
- Applications for the Scale-up and Validation grants are due May 29.
- While not required, Scale-up and Validation applicants are strongly encouraged to submit an Intent to Apply notification by April 16.
