The Spring Student Assessment Period is nearly upon us. Please review the reminders in this issue and take advantage of the resources available to help ensure a smooth assessment period.
Also, if you're interested in offering a Gateway Academy at your school this summer, you can still register by May 1. Visit the PLTW website or contact Stephanie Hughart for more information.

Students Assessment Reminders and Resources

As a reminder, the Spring Student Assessment Period is April 23- June 15.
- If your school submitted a Student Population File, you should expect to see your students in the Student Assessment System when it opens on April 23. At that time, you can login and create your class(es).
- If your school did not participate in the bulk upload process, teachers will need to manually enter their students into the Student Assessment System any time after April 23.
- All Engineering Formula Sheets have been updated. Teachers can download the updated versions from the PLTW Extranet.
- The Assessment & Evaluation Web page provides teachers with updated information on the End of Course assessments, FAQs and a new Teacher Training Video.
- All End of Course Assessment documents can be found on the PLTW Extranet, under the Materials link. These documents include:
- Concept Maps
- IEP/504 Accommodation Request Forms
- Engineering Formula Sheets
- EoC Rules and Guidelines.

Register to Host a Gateway Academy

The curriculum for the Gateway Academy summer camp has been updated and is now available on the Virtual Academy for those schools that have submitted a registration form to host a camp this summer.
Registration will remain open through May 1. Additional information and registration forms are available on the PLTW website.

REMINDER: i3 Grant Applications Now Available

As a reminder, the U.S. Department of Education is inviting applications for new "Scale-up" and "Validation" grants available through its Investing in Innovation (i3) fund.
The 2012 Scale-up and Validation competitions will fund projects across five priority areas including promoting STEM education.
Learn more about the i3 Fund to see if your school or partnership may be ideal for an i3 grant to support your PLTW programs.
- Applications for the Scale-up and Validation grants are due May 29.
- While not required, Scale-up and Validation applicants are strongly encouraged to submit an Intent to Apply notification by April 16.
