For the first time in this organization's history, the annual fall retreat will be held in the eastern United States. We will be in North Carolina's Blue Ridge Mountains, Friday, September 28th, to Sunday, September 30th. The theme is "The Place I Belong: Return to the Self." The Blowing Rock Conference Center is a wonderful venue featuring comfortable private rooms and plenty of quiet nooks for reflection and relaxation. The fall colors will be approaching their full glory!
This retreat is for anyone who wants to deepen an understanding of the Principles of mind, consciousness and thought. Hope to see you in Blowing Rock this fall!
On another note, our friends in the UK, Rudi and Jenny Kennard, have launched a free social-educational network for anyone interested in the Principles.

The objective of this workshop is to discuss the most critical factor in creating efficient work environments. News Briefs
CSC's partner organization, the Delta Citizens Alliance (DCA), kicked off some intense grant-writing activity as the lead applicant in a major proposal to the Center for Disease Control to bring the Three Principles psychology, physical fitness training and nutrition and anti-smoking education to the entire Delta region of Mississippi, Arkansas and Louisiana. If the proposal is successful, CSC will offer proven, research-based solutions for emotional well-being and overall mental health to a region with the highest rates of chronic disease in the country.
CSC Executive Director Dave Nichols presented the Three Principles to parents of pre-kindergarten and kindergarten students at Thomasboro Academy in Charlotte, NC, on July 17. The presentation launches a new focus for the Thomasboro Academy Community Resiliency Collaborative (TACRC)on young children from pre-K to 1st grade. Local trainers and volunteers will concentrate on delivering Three Principles training to the parents and teachers of this age group, as well as to the children themselves, at Thomasboro Academy and at Lakewood Preschool Cooperative starting this fall.

Tune in at 10 am (PST) this Friday, August 10, to hear Ami Chen Mills-Naim, the Center's Education Director, broadcasting live from Hawaii!
On the Front Porch with Ami Chen: Spiritual Dialogues for the 21st Century is Ami's personal radio show. This week's show, "Aloha From the Hawaiian Islands," will feature a relaxing South Pacific theme as Ami reads selections from Sydney Banks' Hawaiian books. The show broadcasts live, biweekly, on Contact Talk Radio every 2nd and 4th Friday.
IT Specialist Volunteer Needed!
We are looking for an individual who can help CSC utilize the rapidly advancing collaborative and promotional tools available today. CSC collaborates across the United States for its NCRP work in Des Moines, IA; Charlotte, NC; and the Mississippi Delta Region, and globally for its promotional and educational work -- which means we use internet technologies extensively.
If you are interested in contributing a minimum of five hours per month, you will be helping us to spread an understanding of the Principles into some of the most disadvantaged regions of the US. In return you are welcome to attend, free-of-charge, any CSC online courses and webinars held during your volunteership. For this volunteer position, you may work from anywhere in the US.
And special thanks to Bill Landauer, a member of the Center's Board of Directors and our volunteer video editor, for his many hours of assistance. Bill taught himself how to edit on a Mac so he could help us turn many hours of recorded interviews into short videos for YouTube and our Media Center site. The first of these videos is getting close to final cut and will be available soon.
