Rising Above Circumstances From The Inside Out

Greetings!

"The more you work with these kids, look in their faces, and they talk to you, you see they have dreams, aspirations just like any other kids. They're smart, but they haven't had exposure."

-- Gloria Dickerson, 3P Trainer

Gloria Dickerson is bringing 3 Principles training to 90 youth in Mississippi's Sunflower County through a unique series of all-day Saturday sessions. Never one to think small, Gloria plans to wrap up the sessions with a bang -- a field trip to Walt Disney World.

Why Disney World? So the participants can experience for themselves the connections between learning and enjoyment of life. During the day in Orlando, they will attend classes, and in the evening they will relax at the world-famous theme park that most never expected to see.

These young folks come from a background of economic hardship, where they often are told they'll never succeed in life.

Gloria tells of one boy who wants to play piano and have a career in music. But his mother told him, "You're black. You have to remember that" -- a message he interpreted as a limit on his hopes and dreams ...

ARTICLE1 Foundational 3P Class Starts March 4

"In reality, there is no such thing as a universal mind and a personal mind. It's just two ways of using the same mind."

-- Sydney Banks

CSC is offering a NEW class, "Foundations in the Principles," every Sunday morning from March 4 to April 15, 2012.

This is an unprecedented online series bringing together the wisdom and experience of the CSC training team: Ami Chen Mills-Naim, Gabriela Maldonado-Montano and Elese Coit.

The six-week live training will be offered by interactive live video and by phone. It is aimed at both those who would like a basic introduction to the principles of Mind, Consciousness and Thought, and to those who would like to deepen their understanding while exploring the real-life significance of these principles, first articulated by Sydney Banks.

ARTICLE2 NCRP Partner Assumes Co-directorship

"I understood that the community was an organic reality, and that I needed to back up and let things happen ... appreciate the strengths within, understand the richness of the folks that live here, and trust them and their wisdom, rather than try to convince them of what needed to be done. Then things really started to happen."

-- Dave Nichols

Dave Nichols has been instrumental in helping the crime-ridden, inner-city neighborhood of Lakewood, in Charlotte, N.C. to transform into an environment where residents feel comfortable at community barbecues and police feel comfortable patrolling on bicycles.

CSC is pleased to announce that Dave has accepted a new role with us -- as Co-director of the National Community Resiliency Project (NCRP).

For the past four years, Dave has been an exemplary NCRP project partner in Charlotte, as Executive Director of the Lakewood Community Development Corporation. (He is also a former local director for Habitat for Humanity.) Dave will share responsibilities for the national project with NCRP Co-director Ami Chen Mills-Naim. Welcome to the CSC team, Dave!

Anchor5Elese Coit Launches New e-Book
Elese Coit (CSC Media Director) has released her new book, based on her life and observations over the period of roughly one year, and originally published as 101 short essays: 101 New Pairs of Glasses.

Here is what Ami has to say about this book:

"Elese Coit is totally unique. She emerges from a vast and deep background working with spiritual leaders and self-actualization teachers from all traditions, and from across the globe. Over the last few years, however, the simplicity of her message has become pointed and refined, as she has immersed in 3 Principles work.

"This book is a charming, thoughtful and often very funny reflection of these two worlds -- that covers everything from decision making to multi-tasking to commitment and relationships. Elese helps us see that mundane concerns, like 'focus,'  become pointers to the great wisdom within us all, and that, as she says: 'Seeing is everything.'"
