Greetings!
As the global Three Principles community grows, we can feel a surge in momentum. More people are asking about the Principles, and seeking help, comfort and a greater understanding of life. Many of you who read this newsletter have introduced others to the Principles who later became teachers themselves. And as they share with others, you may have watched their students, in their turn, share onwards. In this way, the Principles are touching thousands of people's lives.
Sydney Banks knew that the Principles would be passed on through each of us, as we expand our own understanding of the Principles behind our human functioning.
This is truly the Power of Principle, as opposed to belief, theory, concept or assertion. Others see the direct impact; they see lives changing -- and they want to know more.
And so the Principles extend outward, through programs and classes, and through the influence of individuals whose lives have been transformed and who are themselves a testament to the Power of the Principles. It is with great gratitude that we pause a moment to acknowledge that the Principles are spreading and touching people all over the world. The CSC and its programs are part of this -- and so are all of you. We recognize and feel incredibly grateful for each of you and your daily contribution to your communities around the world. This month we'd like to introduce you to a new CSC team member, Elese Coit, who serves as CSC Media Director and Associate Trainer and Consultant. She is part of a growing number of people who have decided to dedicate their working lives to sharing the Principles with others. Read more of her story below. Maureen Latta, our Grants Manager, catches us up with News on Schools as we turn our attention toward educators over the summer months. And the new radio show has launched! Last week, I spoke with Ami live on the show, "Finding Grace and Well-being In The Midst of Death, Taxes and Disaster." More on all of this below... Love, Gabriela |

Meet Our Team: Elese Coit, Media Director
Associate Trainer and Consultant
| Our CSC Co-director, Ami Chen Mills-Naim, first introduced me to The Principles. I remember that day well, for as she was explaining Mind, Thought and Consciousness, I had a deep realization of the truth of The Principles. This realization has led me not only to joining the Center for Sustainable Change, but also to leaving behind everything I knew and had trained for. Here is my story...
I had a deeply spiritually-focused childhood. I was raised in Christian Science -- a religion that teaches that we all live in a spiritual reality. When I was young, I never grasped that. It often seemed no more than a theory to me. From my tender years, through adult years of metaphysical study and searching, I had an inner question, "What is reality?" On that day with Ami, I caught a glimpse of the nature of how reality is created from thought and through the power of thought. Without a great understanding of exactly why, I knew my question was answered. (If you are interested in more of my journey up to that day, you can listen to this radio show with myself and Ami, where I talk about my spiritual journey.)
At that time, I was a coach with my own private practice, a radio show host and a trainer of coaches. I experienced a shift. Yet, before I attempted to share this with my audience or students, I undertook my own personal reflective journey into this new understanding.
Almost two years later, I was led to totally dismantle my business and my coaching practice and turn my focus completely to the Principles. This was not without some difficulty! In fact, I watched my coaching practice shrink as I left my old models and methods behind.
Throughout this time, my relationship with the CSC and The Principles was growing.
I had spent 10 years in high-level corporate management in Fortune 500 companies, and I had amassed a lot of technical knowledge. I had also seen one basic truth about life in the corporate world: problems never really lie with the technology, they always lie with people.
What I saw -- and felt powerless to address as a corporate executive at the time -- was the suffering of people. All of our project difficulties, all of our client issues, boiled down to one factor: people in stress and pain doing the best they could from their poor state of mind.
My move from the corporate to the coaching profession had been my way of trying to make my contribution. I was working with people and getting results. When Ami introduced me to the Principles, I recognized that this new understanding cut a swathe through everything I was doing. It cut to the very core of who we are as people. I had found something that directly changed lives. Including mine.
I knew that I would dedicate myself both personally and professionally to deepening and sharing this understanding.
As I join the CSC, I am bringing all of my media, technical and business savvy and putting it to work for the Center directly -- as Media Director, by helping to create new ways of reaching and teaching (our online classes, our new radio show), and as a Consultant and Trainer, by helping to expand our work within the corporate and business community, which was my natural residence for so many years.
I am aware how much this is needed. A corporation is not a faceless mass, it is a cooperative gathering of human beings, all of whom have families, relationships, children. All of whom can be transformed by an understanding of the Three Principles, just as much as I have been -- and more.
I look forward to knowing you better, to sharing your joys and your journeys as we all support one another in this wonderful community.
With Love,
Elese

In Community: Fostering Promise of Youth at Risk
| |
by Maureen Latta
How does one of the most challenging environments for teachers and students -- a school for youth in trouble with the law -- integrate the principles of Mind, Consciousness and Thought so that teachers feel more at ease, and students come to class on time, learn more, and take pride in their school?
Principals' Center Collaborative (PCC) in San Francisco, a non-residential "court" high school, is fast becoming a "model school" site for the 3 Principles in education. This month's Blog offers an introduction to some of the key players and the changes at PCC.
You can read more about PCC and other schools in the forthcoming educator handbook, "State of Mind in the Classroom," by CSC Co-director Ami Chen Mills-Naim and Dr. Roger C. Mills. Contact Us to receive information about how to purchase copies when the book becomes available.
CSC has four hours of video taken at PCC school in need of editing. If you have video editing skills and would like to volunteer for the Center for Sustainable Change, please contact us.
