Greetings,

PRISM works continuously to establish a greater social media presence. Why? We know that social media is an effective marketing tool. We know that gathering followers and fans boosts the credibility of our brand. The more people see our name and hear about our services, the more they might think of us when they have a need.

Each PRISM manager has an active LinkedIn profile. Each PRISM manager also has a personal Facebook profile, although the Transforming Dreams into Dollars page is where we point our business contacts to.  The following Twitter accounts are associated with PRISM: @SmartAtWork, @BOLDLeader and @PRISMSuccess.  Find us and connect with us!

You will see in this edition that we are having a free social media workshop on September 23rd at PRISM. Also, keep in mind that we offer one-on-one social media sessions to set up your accounts. Don't miss out on this great marketing opportunity!

Warm Regards,
Jane Schulte

THE MOVING TARGET OF PROCESS IMPROVEMENT

What is the most frustrating answer in any workplace environment?
By Debbie Farrell

That old, lazy answer of "That's how it's always been done."  This response needs to be permanently retired from our business vocabulary.  When asked why a process is done the way that it is, the answer should be clear and detailed.  From that point, the discussion can begin about improving the process.  We ask "Who is doing their work most efficiently?"  As a group, we can assess these practices, and perhaps the others need to change their methods to match this "tried and true" way.  Not every improvement suggestion will be enacted.

Streamlining is a continual process.  We need to be proactive enough to realize this, and flexible enough to be able to make continual changes in the way we do things.

HUMAN RESOURCES CORNER
internshipHR Tip - Internships
By Ann Wolf

Human Resources is just one area that PRISM can help

your company.

Has your company ever thought about instituting an internship program? A win/win proposition, an internship program is easy to implement with no long-term commitment on the part of either party, although the student employee may be given the option for permanent employment with your company if the fit is just right.

Internships offer a solution-based partnership allowing your organization to accomplish short-term objectives while at the same time cultivating a potential future employee. Interns offer fresh ideas and perspectives, specialized strengths and skill sets which serve to augment your current team. An added bonus - - giving back to the community assists local students get a good foundation and builds a solid reputation for your company!

Contact your local college or university and ask to speak to someone in the career development office.

SELF MARKETING POWER
By Jeff Beals

In today's loud, crowded and fast-moving marketplace, personal branding is an essential skill. Regardless of what you do for a living, you must develop a personal brand, jealously guard its integrity and zealously promote it to your personal target audience.

Despite the necessity of personal branding, many professionals aren't entirely comfortable doing it. They're afraid they might cross the fine line that lies between healthy, effective self marketing and egotistical boasting. That's a reasonable concern, because one of the first things a self marketer must embrace is the virtue of humility. Nobody likes braggarts, show-offs, know-it-alls and blowhards.

Never fear, you can avoid turning your self marketing efforts into egotistical boasting by following a few, simple criteria:

1.   Plan your self marketing efforts ahead of time

2.   Be consistent in your personal-brand message

3.   Carry out your self marketing tactics skillfully and tastefully

4.   Make sure anything you do for self marketing purposes is ethical,
moral and benefits others in addition to furthering your own brand.

SOCIAL MEDIA TESTIMONIAL OF THE MONTH

"Working with Kim Jehn and the staff at PRISM has been a very rewarding experience. The Losantiville Country Club has been going through some changes recently and decided to join the social media wave. We worked with PRISM to develop a Facebook fan page and open a Twitter account. Both of these ventures have been highly successful in keeping our members in touch with the upcoming events, tournament results, pictures and general information. Just this past month, the Board of Directors had their monthly meeting and every person was blown away by the positive exposure the club is getting online. This would not have happened without the foresight of the PRISM team and their dedicated help. I would highly recommend their services to anyone that is looking to expand your online presence. Thank you, Kim and the PRISM team!"

FEATURED BUSINESS ENTITY

HK Campbell

When we started PRISM in the fall of 2005, HK Campbell played a significant role in the planning and development stages to ensure that we understood our cash flow, break even point and to set up our books properly so we only had to do it one time.

As we grew, HK Campbell was right by our side helping us through all of our financial and tax questions with outstanding and lasting advice.

I would highly recommend HK Campbell to anyone looking to launch a successful business and any current business who hasn't recently had their tax returns or financial data analyzed! ~ Jane Schulte

TIME SAVING RECIPE
spagetti
Spaghetti and Meat Balls in a Hurry!

Combine a pound of lean ground beef or Italian Sausage with a packet of meatloaf seasoning mix and one egg.  Shape into large balls and bake in the oven in a casserole dish sprayed with non-stick spray at 350 for 30-45 minutes until brown.  Meanwhile, heat two jars of your favorite pasta sauce in a sauce pan, add cooked meatballs and let simmer for about 20 minutes.  Boil your favorite pasta according to package directions, drain and plate it up!

Add parmesan cheese on top if desired!
