Greetings!

Happy Holidays to all our good friends and employees!  Thanks to all of you, our year is finishing exceptionally well as plants remain as popular as ever.  Live plants are lasting Holiday gifts and meaningful.  They are not as cuddly as a hamster, but are less trouble, and they clean the air.  I think a plant is even cuter than a hamster, but that's just me.  To find the best plants, please read my Ezine.  To all of you our best wishes for this season and the coming year.
Sincerely,
David Liu, Corporate President

Increase  Employee Productivity

help wanted
When a company provides and maintains plants for their employees, a message of goodwill is sent.  Workers feel management cares because plants create a tended space giving people the sense of caring and well-being.  In fact, in one study, workers have demonstrated 12% more productivity with plants present!
Sources for House Plants
Finding and selecting good house plants is similar to selecting good produce.  A local source either specializes or takes the necessary steps to do a good job in providing either.  As far as I know, AUTOZONE  does not sell plants and that probably works out well for both the consumer and the provider.  However, plants can be purchased from practically every major big box and full service grocery store in the country.

In the past, and to a certain extent today, the big box stores developed reputations for providing poor quality plant material, much of which was a direct result of improper handling, storage and care after the plants had been delivered to the store.  Savvy buyers learned to meet the delivery trucks thereby having a selection of the freshest, undamaged material.

Recognizing this problem, stores such as Home Depot and Lowes have taken measured steps to improve the way they handle and deliver house plants to the consumer. One can now find shade-tolerant tropicals under shade-providing structures, whereas in the past, many a low-light plant was left to burn in the full sun.

Perhaps suitable plants can be obtained from larger florists or garden centers that often staff these specialty departments with experienced personnel.  You will also find larger floor plants at these locations as the selection of six-foot-tall plants is limited at the box stores and practically nonexistent at the grocer.  A beautiful, healthy plant belongs in a watertight planter, selected with the same care as one selects their furniture.  The specialty store can likely either provide or order a planter to suit your needs.

The ultimate source for  your plants would be the professional interiorscaper.  They are the persons most experienced with making the right plant selection with regard to proper environment, design, and ongoing care.  While not all interiorscapers sell directly to the consumer, it is worth asking.  You can find a local professional online or perhaps your office already has a plant service and you then can ask your Service Technician about the services their company provides.
