Dear Ones,
As we joyously begin 2012, our spiritual principles guide us to step out in faith --continuing our services and programs that create the path to fulfilling our mission to raise consciousness, transform lives and heal the planet. At this time, we invite you to step out in faith and travel this path with us by pledging your time, talent and/or treasure to Unity Santa Fe. Your pledge can take many forms --a regular financial giving plan, tithing on unexpected income, sharing at the end of the year, and/or actively participating in our Sacred Service Program (volunteering your time and talent). Your pledge is your loving intention -- your way of saying, "Yes, I eagerly support the work of my spiritual community -- Unity Santa Fe." We realize situations may change during the year, and you may find that during 2012 you are able to increase your support or perhaps find it necessary to decrease your participation somewhat. Unity Santa Fe is where we come to experience grace, community, healing, joy, peace and prayer. We thank you for your presence, your goodness (Godness), your generosity, and your loyal support of Unity Santa Fe. God IS blessing you, keeping you and holding you in Light and Love. This Holy Countenance IS shining upon you always. The Unity Santa Fe Board of Trustees & The Unity Santa Fe Spiritual Finance Team Click here to pledge or donate. Thank you. We hope you enjoy the following wonderful story which Jim Rosemary shares in his book, Even Mystics Have Bills to Pay, about the joyful blessing he received when he gave from the heart:
We Give Because It is Our Nature
Many years ago when my family was on vacation, we were browsing in a department store and I was looking at sports equipment. There was a young boy, perhaps ten or eleven years old, buying a soccer ball.
He must have saved his money, for he was taking crumpled dollar bills and coins from every pocket in his pants. The clerk counted the money, and the boy was less than a dollar short.
He was downcast. The price of the ball must have increased from the time he first priced it or perhaps he forgot to include sales tax.
I reached into my pocket and took out a dollar and gave it to the clerk. She rang up the sale and asked me if I wanted the change. I said, "No, give it to the boy," and I continued my browsing. As the boy ran out of the store, he said to me, "Thanks," and he was gone.
For me, the boy was an angel. I gave only a dollar, but after I left I was trembling. The joy of giving moved me to the core of my being. I learned a powerful lesson.
I always wondered about the young lad. Was it two human being who came together briefly, or was he a gift from God to me?
Rosemergy goes on to write that "Nothing is more natural than to give....To give is to be alive-to express what we truly are....When people give you an opportunity to give, they are giving you a great blessing. It is an opportunity to express your true nature. Don't miss it." |
