Greetings!
As a bipartisan Chamber, we are offering an opportunity to meet your local elected officials. Please come out to support the business community and have your voice heard. Meet our newly elected Lt. Governor, Kim Guadagno, and other Crystal Beacon Award honorees. I look forward to seeing you all there.
We are now on acebook, so become a fan! We also welcome you to put the Chamber logo on your web site and link back to us. Simply right-click on the logo below to save it. - Executive Director Paul Morris

The first Women in Business event of 2010 was another big success! Back at Park East, 3352 Route 35S in Hazlet by popular demand, our guest speaker was Dennis Budinich, Co-Founder of FTC Methods Inc. He presented "How to be Outrageously
Successful in a Competitive World" and was outrageously entertaining.
So many members attended the Breakfast Networking & Card Exchange at Regal Pointe Senior Living at Middletown, despite a driving downpour, that parking was at a serious premium. This event was sponsored by the NMCC Membership Committee. We welcomed several new members and were given a preview of the beautiful renovations of this facility.

Mr. Ferrantell has valuable advice for individuals and small business owners.
"As we get older, it is important to
plan for the future. Many people plan for their retirement, but
fail to consider what happens if they cannot make health care
decisions for themselves. Today, if you go to the doctor and you have
treatment options, you make the decision. However, what happens
if, because of illness, an accident or other reason, you cannot
communicate your wishes? Also, because of current laws,
your entire savings and other assets may be depleted to pay for
medical bills, leaving your spouse unprotected.
Any person who owns a home, assets, and
certainly anyone with children, needs to plan for unforseen events.
This includes a will, living will, and/or a power of attorney. Other
options such as trusts may also shield assets. Please call to schedule a free consultation at (732) 741-6769."

Business Tips
From Alyse Liebowitz of 3 Chicks That Click Photography You are your best promotional vehicle. Leave a
business card wherever you go - on your table at a restaurant, on an
airplane seat, in the locker room at the gym, on public bulletin boards
at the train station. Business cards can't promote your business if you
don't hand them out! For safety, don't put your home
address on them. Use a P.O. Box or virtual office address.
From Nancy Davis of Laser Renew Confused when buying a new printer? What do the letters and numbers mean? For example, HP LaserJet P3005dn means the printer, "d", duplexes; it prints on both sides (saving paper). The "n" means it's all set for a network system. Or just call us first for
a recommendation at 732-957-0515.
From Brian Bonder of Millenium Radio - 94.3 The Point Business owners ask, "How do I know how much to spend on advertising?". There really is no
right amount to spend, but as a guideline, a business should spend
anywhere from 4 1/2% - 5% of the GROSS SALES on advertising in a given
year.
