Alzheimer's Navigator Helps
Caregivers and People Living with Dementia
Alzheimer's Navigator is a free online tool designed specifically for individuals with Alzheimer's disease and their caregivers which helps guide you to answers by creating customized action plans and providing access to information, support and local resources.
When facing Alzheimer's disease, there are a lot of things to consider. We can help you figure out your next steps. Complete a series of short surveys to receive a customized Action Plan designed just for you.
Sample questions from the short surveys:
1. Do you find that you have stopped or limited doing things you used to enjoy?
2. Have you thought about the type of care you will need and how you will pay for it?
3. Does the person with dementia tend to become more confused and agitated in the late afternoon or evening?

Senator Margaret Craven and Dr. Joel Botler |
Attendees celebrated as Senator Craven joined the distinguished list of Maine Alzheimer's Champions including U.S. Senator Susan Collins, Dr. Katherine Stoddard Pope and Dr. Joel Botler and the Maine Medical Center Geriatric Center team.
"We are thrilled to honor Senator Craven this year for her commitment to making Alzheimer's a statewide priority," said Laurie Trenholm, Executive Director of the Alzheimer's Association, Maine Chapter. "As sponsor of the legislation that called for a task force to address the needs of families in Maine affected by Alzheimer's now, and in the future, Senator Craven's leadership and vision has contributed greatly to the development of Maine's first-ever State Plan on Alzheimer's Disease and Related Dementias. Senator Craven brings a strong personal commitment to finding a cure and providing better treatment and support for those affected by this disease; she understands what a serious threat it is for our aging population in Maine."
In her address, Senator Craven discussed the development of the state plan as a truly collaborative effort and thanked the many stakeholders in attendance. She remarked that the real champions are professional and family caregivers providing round the clock support for people living with Alzheimer's disease and related dementias.
