Greetings!

Dear Friends,

The summer was a busy time for the chapter. We held Insider Briefings at locations throughout the Bay Area including Burlingame, Los Altos Hills, San Francisco, and two in the East Bay, including one briefing hosted by the Consul General of Israel, Akiva Tor and his wife Naomi.

In August we were fortunate to have the Former Israeli Ambassador to Egypt, Shalom Cohen, who served from 2005 through 2010.He delivered a talk, based upon his firsthand experience, about the events that led to the Arab Spring.

In September we hosted Gadi Shamni, the Israel Defense and Armed Forces Attaché to the United States and Canada. His extensive military career and diplomatic service gives him a deep understanding of the current situation surrounding Israel and probable future scenarios.

The two dignitaries delivered poignant and insightful talks and those who attended gained a balanced perspective on the issues.  While it is evident that the state of affairs is tenuous, and the briefings left many feeling at a loss about the situation facing Israel,  there is something we can do. We can support the young men and women looking after Israel for all of us. They are our sons and daughters, brothers and sisters.  It is important for them to know that we stand with them, that they are not alone!

Gadi ShamniLike any other campaign to raise funds for a good cause, ours depends on the continued support of its generous donors.  Thank you for showing Israel's soldiers that although they are confronted by enemies on their own soil, they can count on the continual help of friends in faraway places.

Help us meet their well being needs!

 Shana Tova!
