Join our 2010 Mission

We are planning to join other chapters in Israel during the Impact Scholarship Program's Mission. This Mission will take place from November 4th through the 12th.
Mission participants will attend the Impact Scholarship Program's graduation.
It will be a unique experience to witness former-combat soldiers become
college graduates due to the generosity of our donors who made their attendance at university a reality.

Going on a mission is the ideal way to acquire a close understanding
and appreciation of the important work the FIDF does to support Israeli soldiers, their families, and, as a result, positively impact Israeli society.

Missions can be tailored to visit army sites of interest to a group, or to visit the projects or programs supported by the participants.  If you are interested in joining one of our Bay Area missions, or wish to join a mission with another chapter,
please contact the FIDF for more information.

Dear Friends of IDF,
The generosity of donors from our region have enabled 19 soldiers to attend college; a battalion to enjoy fun and sports days, conduct unit ceremonies, and celebrate Jewish holidays together; 2 mobile recreation clubs, and -a mobile gym to be built;  and the Air Force Southern Airspace Control and Surveillance Unit's officers club to be refurbished.

Our community raised enough money for nine soldiers to fly home to visit their families. Funds raised for the Dignity Program have provide many soldiers with financial support to offset their economic hardship in meeting their basic needs. In addition, 370 Sweet Packages were distributed to soldiers during Sukkot.

The support we have been able to provide for the soldiers is critical and significant, but we can do better.  Many soldiers remain in need. Imagine how much it would mean to them-and to Israel-if we could give all soldiers the help they need to succeed on the battlefield and in civil society.  Picture Israel with more college-educated people, less poverty, and better-adjusted individuals.  What better way to invest in Israel's future than by supporting its people's well-being and education?  I am confident that the Bay Area Chapter will grow to bigger and stronger and able to make an even more significant contribution!
