Community meeting - May 10
The school district is hosting a Panel Discussion - Questions - Please ASK
The meeting is on Monday, May 10, 7-8 PM at Medina High School in the Distance Learning Room.
Recognizing that parents and community members have many questions regarding the school district - from course offerings, to extra-curricular opportunities to financial needs and requests - the district is holding this panel discussion to answer and address questions and share information.
Panel members include: Board Member Bill Grenfell, Superintendent Randy Stepp, Treasurer Wally Gordon, Director of Instruction Lori Chandler, A. I. Root Middle School Principal Chad Wise, Medina High School Principal Bryan Farson.

Encore participates in GLEEveland Rocks Medina High School's Encore Entertainment Co., is one of eight show choirs that has been chosen to participate in the FOX 8 GLEEveland Rocks Competition. Encore performed on FOX 8 on Monday, May 3. The show choir with the most votes based on their performance will win GLEE prizes, $1,000 and have the opportunity to perform at the Palace Theatre prior to a performance of GREASE the musical. Encore was chosen for this honor out of 125 nominated show choirs. Voting for the winning show choir will begin on Thursday, May 6. Staff receive outstanding service awards Two district employees were recognized this week with the district's Distinguished Service Award. This award is the most prestigious award presented by the Superintendent to four employees during the school year. Its purpose is to recognize an employees outstanding contribution of time, talent and effort. Recipients are positive role-models for their peers and exemplary representatives of the Medina City Schools.
The recipients are Jill Young, a financial secretary in the Treasurer's Office and Debbie Hicks, a fifth grade teacher at Fenn Elementary. |
Students place first in Stock Market game Root Middle School sixth graders recently particiapted in the PB and J Stock Market Challenge Team in the Ashland Region's spring Challenge placing first. The following students Sydney Lynskey, Marissa Hill, Taylor D'Agazio, and Emily Hawk ended the challenge with a portfolio value of over $138,000 earning a $28,000 profit, in only 12 weeks.
