Claggett Academic Team Places Second in Academic Challenge Competition Academic Team

Claggett Middle School's Academic Challenge Team recently placed second in the countywide competition. The competition matches two schools against each other and each match consists of three different phases: AB Toss-Up, teams answer questions on Math, Science, Social Studies, Language Arts and Fine Arts; Alphabet Round, teams answer ten questions that all start with the same letter; and, Lightening Round, students have three seconds to answer questions from any category.

Teams earn points for correct answers and the team with the most points wins the match.

Several teams finished with the same record as Claggett's therefore overall points earned during the competition were used as the tie breaker leading Claggett's team to second place.
