resourceLocal Training Resource Lists: Request for Recommendations

The Learning & Capability Building (L&CB) Work Group is updating the EICC Local Training Resources Lists, which were developed in 2009 for China, South-East Asia, and Brazil.  In response to member requests, the work group will also create lists for Mexico and Eastern Europe, as well as a Global list.  The work group requests that members share their experiences with training providers in these regions for corporate responsibility/sustainability.  The input will improve value of the lists for all members.

Please provide the following information:

  • Name of training providers
  • Contact information for providers
  • Region/country where they offer training
  • Type of training they offer (e.g. OHS or worker rights)
  • Feedback on quality or approach

There is no limit to the number of training providers you can submit.  Please send all input to Jessica Davis Pluess by August 15, 2011.  Lists will be finalized and available for members by Fall.

conflictConflict Minerals Reporting Template

The Extractives Work Group has launched the Conflict Minerals Reporting Template tool, developed to facilitate disclosure and communication of information regarding smelters that provide material to company supply chains.  The template can assist companies in their due diligence processes by tracking information in their supply chains that is related to conflict minerals.

The template includes questions on company conflict-free policies, engagement with direct suppliers, and a list of smelters companies and their suppliers use.  The template provides written instructions and recorded training on use of the tool, and is available in English, Simplified Chinese, Korean, and Japanese.

Additionally, a "dashboard" is available for aggregating multiple templates from suppliers.  The dashboard enables data analysis and supports the preparation of consolidated information from multiple suppliers.  The dashboard is available in English.

EICC members, along with non-member participants of the Extractives Work Group, can access the due diligence reporting tools and training materials here.  The template and dashboard will be released to non-members in early August.
