pilotNew Member Logos

New logos are available for companies to identify their level of membership in the EICC.  A logo is also available for Authorized Service Providers (e.g., certified audit firms).  The logos and use guidelines are available here

EICC companies are encouraged to use the membership logo specific to their membership status (Full or Applicant) in reports and on company websites, for example.  All members should become familiar with the logos and their appropriate uses.  Contact Wendy Dittmer for more information.

meetingRegister Your Enablon Company Administrator

The EICC Project Viva Work Group completed several project milestones during the 1st quarter to prepare the new Enablon system, including:

  • Completed specifications
  • Outlined the system in Enablon

Project Viva is now in development phase, and Enablon is building the system to EICC requirements. The workgroup is also staging the system rollout.  This includes identifying "Company Administrators" for the enw system in each member company.

Company Administrators will manage their company users, add subsidiaries, and handle SAQ submissions, among other duties.  A login will be created to provide access for each Company Administrator to system training, which will be provided prior to the system production date.  Training details will be provided after Company Administrators are identified.

Please click here to identify your Company Administrator for the Enablon system.  Responses must be received no later than COB Friday, May 6, 2011.

Send questions about the new system to communications@eicc.info.

lcbReport on Health and Safety Training Pilots: Feedback from Participants

The L&CB Health & Safety Taskforce organized supplier pilot events in December and March for new health and safety training course materials.  The materials are being developed with STR Responsible Sourcing.

Thanks to Dave Richardson (Kodak) and Ron Burton (IBM) for their taskforce leadership, and to Pegatron and IBM for hosting the pilots at their facilities in Shanghai and Guadalajara, each of which attracted over 60 participants.

The training course helps facility managers implement effective health and safety programs, and to build a culture in factories that promotes health and safety. The course applies a "train the trainer" model to help management transfer knowledge to workers.

The pilots received very positive feedback from participants with over 90% ratings on the training content, delivery, and logistics. The taskforce will spend the next month incorporating the feedback into the training materials.  The materials are available in Chinese and Spanish, and will be available for EICC/GeSI members in June.

Contact Dave Richardson for more information.  See a list of companies that attended the pilot and feedback from participants here.

surveyTask Force Members Needed to Focus on Slavery and Human Trafficking Law

EICC is establishing a task force to address the California Transparency Supply Chains Act of 2010.  The law will go into effect on Jan. 1, 2012.  It requires all retailers and manufacturers that conduct business in California to take the following actions if they produce annual sales of $100 million or more:

  • Evaluate and address the risks of human trafficking and slavery in product supply chains.
  • Require direct suppliers to certify that materials in company products comply with laws in the countries in which they are doing business.
  • Conduct audits of suppliers.
  • Maintain accountability standards.

The task force will develop recommendations and a tool kit to help member companies respond to the law.  Contact Ben Bruno to join the task force.

etascE-TASC Data Migration

An FAQ was sent to primary representatives to answer questions about the new Enablon system and data migration from E-TASC. The FAQ is available here.

All companies are encouraged to take action before subscriptions to E-TASC expire. Current E-TASC SAQ data will not be migrated to the new system.

Suppliers that accept an invitation to register with Enablon will be able to save their current SAQs for reference. The Enablon system will have a new SAQ with new questions that support audit activities and the new Services SAQ. Additional details on loading current SAQ questionnaires in the new system will be provided at a later date. Contact Grant Feichtinger with questions.
