Carbon Reporting Internal Data Collection Materials Needed
The Environmental Sustainability Work Group is developing supplier training materials to help companies collect internal data for carbon reporting. Environmental Sustainability: Join a Sub-Team
The Environmental Sustainability Work Group needs assistance from all EICC members to complete several projects in 2011-2014. While 25 companies are part of the work group, only 1/3 of them are represented on the sub groups. The work group wants every company to be represented on at least one sub group. The sub groups will work on 3-year plans for specific environmental issues. Here is how your company can help:
Join the work group calls. The calls are held every other Friday at 12 Noon EST. All companies are encouraged to participate on the calls.
Pick a sub group. Send an email to Marsha Ali indicating which which work group you want to join.

Worker-Management Communication Training Pilot: Host Needed
|
The LCB Worker-Management Communications Training Task Force is preparing a pilot of the Worker Management Communications Training. The training is intended for factory managers, including human resource managers, general managers, and CSR officers.
A company is needed to host the three-day training session in April for an estimated 20-30 attendees. The preferred location is Malaysia, Singapore, or India, as the training will be conducted in English. Proposed dates in April are the 14, 15, & 16. Health & Safety Training Pilot
|
The Learning & Capability Building Work Group held the first of two training pilots in November for the Health & Safety Training Course. The second pilot will be hosted by IBM in Guadalajara on March 24. An invitation letter that you can use to send to your suppliers can be found here.
The invitation can be sent with your company's logo. All members are encouraged to invite their suppliers to the pilot training, and to submit feedback after the session. Availability is limited to 100 attendees. Companies will have access to the materials to deploy to suppliers after feedback is obtained. Contact Grant Feichtinger for more information. |
Enablon Tool Naming Contest
The EICC 2.0 Workgroup is sponsoring a contest to name the new Enablon tool. The new name for the tool will be announced in the Bulletin and on the EICC website. The winning individual and his or her company will be recognized in the announcement.

Membership Meeting Hosts Needed
The EICC Summer Membership Meeting will be held July 25-28, 2011 in Asia. A host for the meeting has not yet been identified. Contact Carrie Hoffman if your company can serve as host for this or future meetings. |

Special Presentation on Water
The Environmental Sustainability Work Group will provide a special presentation on water during its meeting on Feb. 18. Linda Hwang, BSR Manager for Research and Innovation, will present information on water issues in the ICT industry and metrics to be considered by the work group. EICC members who are not in the work group are welcome to join the presentation. Contact Sasha Radovich or Marsha Ali to RSVP.

Membership Compliance Program Deadline: February 11
Data collection for the EICC Membership Compliance Program began in October. Members were required to submit "first-pass" information on activities in their companies and major suppliers by December 31. The data will provide baselines for the program in 2011. Carbon Reporting System Agreements
The updated "Terms and Conditions for the 2011 Carbon Reporting System" is available here. All participating members should review the document with their internal legal teams and return a signed copy to jnishinaga@bsr.org by February 15. The Information Technology Industry Council (ITI) submitted comments in November to the SEC in advance of the release of the draft rule on conflict mineral reporting. The comments are available on the SEC website here.
Rick Goss of ITI has offered to hold a webinar for EICC members after the final comments are submitted. The webinar will be held in early to mid-march if there is enough member interest, and will allow members to ask questions about the final comments.

An FAQ that addresses common questions about the new Enablon system has been sent to primary contacts at member companies and is also available here. All companies are encouraged to review the SAQ before subscriptions to E-TASC expire. In particular, companies are encouraged to read the section about migrating data from E-TASC.
