planImportant EICC Surveys: Last Chance to  Respond

EICC requests input from all members on two important issues. Please take a few minutes to complete both surveys by 5 PM Friday (tomorrow), January 14.
  • EICC Strategic Plan--The Board of Directors has identified six issues to be addressed in 2011 and beyond. Please take 10 minutes to provide your input on the issues through this survey. The information you provide will be shared at the Jan. 18-20 membership meeting, and is critical to help frame planning sessions at the meeting.

  • Anti-Corruption Law Overview--Anti-corruption legislation is being enacted by many countries. For example, the new UK Bribery Act will go into effect in April, 2011. In addition, enforcement activity in the U.S. has become more aggressive, and cooperation among enforcement agencies around the world has increased. For example, the 1997 U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), which established a framework for enforcement against corruption, resulted in over $2 billion in fines, penalties, and disgorgement of profits in 2009-10.

While there is no official checklist or standard for third party due diligence programs relating to the FCPA or the UK Bribery Act, multinational companies may need to institute programs that vet outsourced relationships and establish clear anti-bribery and anti-corruption standards. Establishing such programs may be resource intensive and cost prohibitive. Please complete this brief survey about the due diligence activities at your company to meet the FCPA and UK Bribery Act requirements.  Click here for additional information about the law that was provided by Betty Hum of Intel.
