Important Updates on EICC-iTRi Initiative
The recent announcement by DRC President Joseph Kabila to suspend mining in North Kivu, South Kivu, and Maniema has prevented Tin Supply Chain Initiative (iTSCi) staff from tagging material at a pilot mine site. EICC members contributed $300,000 to the project. More information about the situation is provided by iTRi in the iTRi News Bulletin.
Project partners, including from the electronics industry, visited the DRC and Rwanda last week to review the project's progress and meet with local stakeholders. A media release from ITRI about the visit is provided here. |
