trainingRegister for Training Session: "How to Conduct an Energy Assessment at an Industrial Facility"

A short training session on energy management and conducting energy assessments will be offered on August 26 from 8 AM-12 Noon at the Crowne Plaza Shenzhen. The training will be in Mandarin.

Presentations will focus on the processes, procedures, and protocols of industrial energy assessments. This will include the concept of "industrial triage" when evaluating energy use and reduction, as well as "rules-of-thumb" and insights on how to move an energy project forward in the current industrial economic climate. The training will also cover some of the tools available on the Department of Energy website, as well as possible incentives in China for energy efficiency.

Click here for the bio of the instructor, Dr. ShyShenq Liou. EICC Members are encouraged to send two local representatives to the training. Register for the training here. Presentation slides in both Mandarin and English will be distributed by email to training registrants in advance, and will be available for download after the session.

EPATask Force: EICC Survey and Employee Interviews

The Employee Health & Welfare Task Force needs 5-10 EICC members to help with development of a preliminary report on employee views relating to workplace welfare. The report will be based on interviews with employees at facilities in the Shenzhen area. The report will not reference specific companies, and all data will be used in aggregated form only.

The Task Force will also ask all EICC members with direct operations in the region to complete a survey. The survey will be used to establish a baseline of information about the industry that can be compared to other industries, and to provide basic industry data to EICC members at the membership meeting on Aug. 25.

Contact Brad Cameron if your company can help with the employee interviews.
