boardBoard Activity

The Board took the following action this week:

  • Health & Safety Training Course: Approved selection of a vendor and funding to provide the training course for facility managers.  The vendor will also translate the materials into Mandarin and Spanish to allow pilot training to begin in China and Latin America.
  • New Members: Approved membership applications from Medtronic and XP Power.  EICC has welcomed nine new members in 2010.

Medtronic and XP Power are the latest companies to join EICC.  Here is more information about the companies:

  • Medtronic, Inc., is a medical devices company based in Minneapolis, MN.  The company will be represented in EICC by Kiersten Light, Senior Principal Technical Sourcing Specialist, based in Santa Rosa, CA.  Kelly Scott Schwantz, Senior Purchasing Manager, and Mitch Parrish, Vice President of Global Supply Chain Operations, will also represent Medtronic.  They are located in Minneapolis.
  • XP Power is an original equipment manufacturer based in Singapore.  The company will be represented in EICC by Hiren Shah, Vice President of Engineering, based in Santa Ana, CA.  Jensen Lee, Quality Manager, and Duncan Penny, Chief Executive, will also represent XP Power.  They are located in Singapore.
toolsMembership Meeting: Registration Now Open

The EICC Membership Meeting in Shenzhen will be held Aug. 24-26. The meeting will focus on emerging issues for the electronics industry in China, as well as important new EICC initiatives. A tentative agenda is provided here. Please note that some work groups may meet Aug. 23, and a final schedule will be provided next week.

  • Work Groups-Work Group leaders should contact Carrie Hoffman to schedule meeting times.
  • Registration-Please register here.
  • Hotel Information-Information about the meeting venue and hotel options in Shenzhen will be provided next week.

Voting Process
  1. June 11: Distribution of ballot materials (includes documents with marked changes since May 7th distribution).
  2. July 9: Full Members vote on the Membership Compliance Definition, Version 3. Voting options include Yes, No, or Abstain (if voting "no" or "abstain" please provide your comments in the textbox provided). Please remember that each company may cast only one vote. All votes must be cast by 5 PM EST on Friday, July 9, 2010.
  3. July 9: Membership votes submitted electronically. AMS collates and confirms the results.
  4. July 16: Voting results communicated to members.
    • Can members object to a vote outcome?
      Yes, if 20% of members object to the outcome in writing (objecting members must identify themselves), a second vote (re-vote) takes place. Objections must be received within 5 business days of original vote.
  5. July 23: Objections filed with AMS.
  6. July 29: Objections distributed to members (4 business days after filed).
  7. Aug 12: Revote (10 business days after objections distributed to membership).
  8. Aug 14: Revote outcome communicated (2 days after revote).
