The Board took the following action this week:

  • Employee Health & Welfare Task Force: Approved a plan to establish a task force under the Asia Program. The task force will help EICC develop a better understanding of the factors that affect employee welfare.
  • Environment Task Force/Committee: Discussed development of a task force or committee under the Asia Program to identify critical environmental issues in southern China.

eLearningAuditor Certification

The VAP Work Group is now offering EICC Auditor Certification for third party auditors. More information, including training dates, is available here. Contact Dani Harder or Mike Vaudreuil for more information.

achillesEmployee Health & Welfare Task Force: Update

EICC members are concerned about employee health and welfare, and are particularly concerned about workplace suicide in the Asia region. As a result, the EICC Board of Directors has approved development of a task force to help EICC members understand societal and other factors that affect employee health and welfare. The task force mission and objectives are available here. Contact Brad Cameron for more information or to register Asia-based personnel on the task force.

The EICC Membership Compliance Definition, Revision 3 as of 6-11-10 (Click here) is currently out for membership vote.

Voting Process
  1. June 11: Distribution of ballot materials (includes documents with marked changes since May 7th distribution)
  2. July 9: Click here to cast your vote. Full Members will vote on the whole Membership Compliance Definition, Version 3. Voting options include Yes, No or Abstain (if voting "no" or "abstain" please provide your comments in the textbox provided). Please remember that each company may cast only one vote (primary contacts for Full Member). All votes must be cast by 5 PM EST on Friday, July 9th, 2010
  3. July 9: Membership votes submitted electronically to AMS, who collates and confirms the results
  4. July 16: Voting results communicated to members
    • Can members object to a vote outcome?
      Yes, if 20% of members object in writing (objecting members must identify themselves) to the outcome, a second vote (re-vote) takes place; objections must be received within 5 business days of original outcome vote
  5. July 23: Objections filed to AMS (within 5 business days after vote results)
  6. July 29: Objections distributed to members (4 business days after filed)
  7. Aug 12: Revote (10 business days after objections distributed to membership)
  8. Aug 14: Revote outcome communicated (2 days after revote)

toolsTools Overview Webinar Recording Available

EICC provided a Tools Overview Webinar on June 16 at 11 AM-12 Noon EST. The webinar provided a better understanding of available EICC tools and resources. It was intended for new members and new employees at member companies, and as a refresher for all other members.
