BoardBoard Action

The Board took the following action this week:

  • New Member: Approved Noventa as a new EICC member.
  • Training: Approved the selection by the L&CB Work Group of a vendor to provide worker communication training for employers. The work group has developed training materials and issued an RFP to identify trainers.

achillesNoventa Joins EICC

Noventa Ltd., a Channel Islands-based mining company, joined EICC this week. The company supplies electronics firms, and is a significant miner and producer of tantalum, including from a mine in Mozambique. According to the company's application letter, "Noventa has zero tolerance for corruption, and puts a high value on ethical standards in the mining and production of tantalum, including the training and well-being of all employees and staff."

Noventa will be represented in EICC by Eric Kohn, the company's Chairman. Welcome aboard!

ComplianceRevised Compliance Program Timeline
 
The Compliance Program Work Group has revised the timeline for review and adoption of the new program. The changes will allow more time for EICC members to learn about the new requirements, and to offer input through an extended comment period:
  • May 7: Distribution of documents for internal/legal review.
  • May 28: Members submit final comments.
  • June 2-3: Membership Webinars.
    • Webinar 1: June 2: 7:00 AM PST/10:00 AM EST/4:00 PM CET/10:00 PM Asia (June 3)
    • Webinar 2: June 2: 11:00 AM PST/2:00 PM EST/8:00 PM CET/2:00 AM Asia (June 3)
    • Webinar 3: June 2: 6:00 PM PST/9:00 PM EST/3:00 AM CET (April 22)/9:00AM Asia (June 3)
    • Webinar 4: June 3: 11:00 AM PST/2:00 PM EST/8:00 PM CET/2:00 AM Asia (June 4)
  • June 11: Distribution of ballot materials (includes document with marked changes since May 7 distribution)
  • June 25: Membership votes submitted to program administrator.
  • July 9: Communicate vote results to members

toolsTools Overview Webinar: June 16

EICC will provide a Tools Overview Webinar on June 16 at 11am-12 Noon EST. The webinar will provide a better understanding of available EICC tools and resources. It is intended for new members and new employees at member companies, and as a refresher for all other members.
