Mineral Tracking Pilot Project: Commitments Due Friday
A "Call To Action" was sent to all EICC members to help fund the $300,000 ITRI pilot project that will track ore in the Eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). Several companies, including Apple, Cabot, Dell, HP, Intel, Lenovo, Motorola, Nokia, RIM, Talison, and Xerox have committed a total of $170,000.
We need to close the funding gap. The pilot is part of a development project that must be started before ITRI can obtain funding from the World Bank for a full-scale program in the region.
The deadline for all commitments is February 15. However, we must determine by Friday (tomorrow) if we will be able to close the funding gap. Contact Bob Leet or Mike Loch by 12 Noon EST February 12 about the status of your company's commitment. |
