BoardBoard Action

The Board took the following actions this week:

  • Asia Program: Approved a Phase I scope of work for the Asia Program. This includes development of committees to implement the program and development of a recruiting effort.

  • Membership Meeting: Began planning the Jan. 27 meeting that will be held in Santa Clara, CA.

  • E-TASC: Approved a scope of work for E-TASC v1.6. Work began last week.

MembershipMeetingMembership Meeting Jan. 27: Save the Date

The next EICC membership meeting will be held Jan. 27, 2010 in Santa Clara, CA. The meeting will include discussions on the 2010 budget, as well as presentations on the new EICC certification and membership compliance programs. Planning is also underway to develop a stakeholder engagement or education session. The meeting will be hosted by Apple, Cisco, and HP. Work group leaders should notify Grant Feichtinger if they want to hold work sessions on Jan. 26.

Dues2010 Membership Dues

Invoices for 2010 membership dues were delivered to all EICC members on Dec. 1. Payments are due by February 1.

The invoices included information about the new membership requirements that will be adopted in 2010, as well as current requirements. This includes the current policy for use of the EICC Code of Conduct. As a reminder, members must use the EICC code in place of company-specific codes. Any company-specific requirements must be added as an addendum to the EICC code. Contact Carrie Hoffman if you did not receive an invoice, or for more information about how to add requirements to the code.

AsiaAsia Program Ready for Kick Off

Implementation of the Asia Program will begin next week. Three committees have been established to help with outreach, certification, and capability building. A list of committee members is posted here. A teleconference meeting is scheduled for the following committees:

  • Certification Committee: Dec. 16 at 8 PM EST
  • Outreach Committee: Dec. 18 at 12 Noon EST

A Steering Committee has also been established to help with planning and recruitment. Members of the Steering Committee are based in Asia and include:

  • Cindy Feng, Dell
  • Ron Horng, Foxconn
  • Jermaine Lee, Jabil
  • Ling Ling Lee, Intel
  • Asako Nagai, Sony
  • Ernest Wong, HP

A teleconference meeting for the Steering Committee will be held Dec 7 at 8 PM EST Contact Brad Cameron for more information.

SustainabilitySustainability Work Group Meeting

The Sustainability Work Group will meet Dec. 9-10 at Applied Materials in Santa Clara, CA. Contact Betsy Fargo for more information.

DOEDOE Training Available

The Department to Energy and Rutgers University have offered to provide training on "How to Conduct an Energy Assessment at a Factory" for EICC members. EICC will schedule a training session for all members if there is sufficient interest. Contact Grant Feichtinger if you are interested.
