Board Action
The Board took the following actions this week:
- Bylaws: Amended the EICC Bylaws to address membership dues. Payments in arrears will result in suspended membership after 30 days and terminated membership after 60 days. Exceptions may be made for extenuating circumstances with majority approval by the Board, or for errors by EICC or its subcontractors.
- Asia Program: Reviewed a two-year plan for the Asia program. The plan includes development of a Steering Committee, as well as committees for outreach, certification, and capability building. The Board is considering a motion to approve funding for phase I of the plan.
- Programs: Established a priority listing of EICC programs and activities. The list will be used to help develop funding allocations with work groups. It includes membership recruitment, retention, and compliance, refinements to the VAP, and development of the certification program. It also includes focus on L&CB initiatives and EICC tools (such as E-TASC and the carbon reporting system), development of the Asia program, and development of a tantalum certification process.

EICC Membership: Important Information for 2010
EICC members will receive an invoice next week for 2010 dues. Under new provisions in the EICC Bylaws, dues must be paid within 30 days to avoid suspension of membership privileges. AMS will provide additional information about the policy with the invoices.
The Board is completing an EICC membership compliance program for 2010 to help expand use of the EICC Code of Conduct. The program will also provide new metrics that will allow EICC to measure its performance. More information about the program will be provided in future issues of the Bulletin, as well as through meetings and work group calls when the program is finalized. AMS will work individually with EICC members to explain the new requirements and offer assistance. Contact Carrie Hoffman for more information.
