Board Actions This Week
The Board took the following action this week:
- Communications: Moved oversight for EICC membership communications under the Board Director for Outreach. The change will ensure better integration of membership recruitment and retention activities.
- Process for Responding to Allegations: Initiated a process to guide EICC actions when member companies are alleged to be in violation of the EICC code of conduct. The Board will review current requirements and recommend adjustments if necessary.
- Code Review: Voted to propose a new timeframe for future code reviews. The Board will place a motion before the EICC membership at the Sep. 16 membership meeting.

Planning for the September Membership Meeting The next EICC membership meeting will be held in Chandler, AZ Sep. 15-17. Meeting attendees should review the following important items:
- Register: Register for the meeting here. View hotel options below.
- Work Groups: Several EICC work groups will meet on Sep. 15. See a list of meeting times and the entire meeting agenda here.
- ILO Presentation: Members should let their HR personnel know about the presentation and discussion that will be held with the International Labor Organization on Sep. 17. HR personnel from member companies may attend the meeting. An overview of the meeting objectives is provided here.

Report on Asia Network Meeting
EICC held a planning session Aug. 3-4 in Shenzhen, China for Asia-based representatives of EICC members. The meeting was attended by 24 representatives from 18 companies. Flextronics hosted the meeting, which was chaired by EICC Director for Asia Programs Richard Wong (Flextronics). An overview of the meeting is available here. The overview includes feedback provided by meeting participants, as well as recommendations that will be presented to the EICC Board on Aug. 25. VAP Update
The Validate Audit Program management team is completing the VAP contract phase with participating companies. Program participants should pay special attention to the following dates:

Aug 24, 2009: Audit overlap selection process is completed ("Audit Buyer Commitment Lists" provided to each audit purchaser), and the audit firm bidding and allocation process begins.

Aug 31, 2009: Deadline for audit purchasers to provide "Audit Buyer Commitment List," and purchasers to receive final audit lists. Audit purchasers will also receive statements of work (SOW) with specific audits listed.

Sep 14, 2009: The audit program manager will receive signed SOWs.
