BoardBoard Actions This Week

The Board took the following actions this week:
  • Welcomed New Board Members: The new Board members are Deborah Albers (Dell), Bernadette Barber (Logitech), Steve Viera (Intel), and Richard Wong (Flextronics).
  • Received E-TASC Update: Version 1.5 will be released the first week in October.  Members are able to offer input on the specifications this week.
  • Monitored Projects: Progress reports were reviewed, including plans for the September membership meeting, the SharePoint redesign, and announcement of the new carbon reporting system.

GHGCarbon Reporting System to Launch
 
The Environmental Sustainability Work Group will launch the EICC Carbon Reporting System on June 19. The system will allow customers and suppliers to collect and report carbon footprint data. The standardized collection template is consistent with the World Resources Institute Greenhouse Gas Accounting protocol and allows enterprise and factory level reporting globally. The system will eliminate the use of different templates for different customers, and will allow tracking/trending of data annually. The system requires reporting in English, but allows navigation in 22 languages.
 
So far, 22 EICC members have registered to collect data from 100 suppliers each. An external vendor (BSI Entropy) provides software that will eventually allow tracking of additional metrics. The system is free for EICC members.  Contact Carrie Hoffman for more information.

coleadWork Group Co-Leader Needed

Lisa Allison will step down as co-leader of the Communications and Stakeholder Relations Work Group, but will remain in the group as a regular participant. The group is looking for someone who has communications experience and responsibility for communications in his or her company. Please contact Marcy Lynn if you are interested in serving as a co-leader.

eLearningSupplier Manager Training Module: Alpha Version

An alpha version of the EICC supplier manager training module will be available on June 22.  EICC members can review the module and provide feedback to Shveta Kalia (training vendor). Work group conference calls with the training vendor will be held on June 23 & 30 to discuss the module. Interested members are encouraged to join the calls. The e-Learning Work Group and Learning & Capability Building Work Group will discuss the feedback and an action plan on a July 2 work group call. Members are also welcome to join that call. The deadline to provide feedback is June 29. Contact Grant Feichtinger for more information and call details.
