MappingSupply Chain Mapping Project

Attention primary EICC contacts: Please forward this Bulletin to the appropriate person in your company who can help us identify suppliers. The deadline has been extended until May 22.

The Extractives Work Group in conjunction with the GeSI Supply Chain Work Group has contracted with Resolve (consultant) to perform supply chain mapping of tin, tantalum, and cobalt based on the recommendation of the 2008 joint EICC/GeSI study. The scope of work is:
  1. Create a transparency model to identify companies in the electronic supply chain.
  2. Determine whether identified companies have a social responsibility code of conduct.
  3. Identify challenges incurred in collecting this information.
  4. Provide guidance on a systemic process to maintain the transparency model.
EICC member companies (with paid-in-full 2009 dues) are eligible to participate in this activity at no additional cost.

Please complete the supplier template found HERE, and return it to Grant Feichtinger by Friday, May 22. EICC staff will consolidate the input and identify five suppliers associated with each of the three metals. The information will be used for modeling. Resolve will not have access to the company-supplier relationships identified in the harvesting activity, and no commercial relationships will be revealed.

For more information see EICC 2009 Extractives Goals_Final 04Feb2009 and 2009_Research_RFP_17Feb2009.

Please contact Grant Feichtinger with questions or concerns.

NewMembershipNew Membership Recruitment Program

The EICC Board is developing a new membership recruitment program for 2009-11. The program will rely on EICC members to identify prospective companies. The goal, which was adopted by the membership at the Amsterdam face to face meeting, is to recruit 5 new members in 2009, and 10 new members annually in 2010 and 2011.

Please help EICC meet its recruitment goals. Click here to download a one-page form that you can fax or email to EICC staff. Use the form to identify at least one prospective company that you would like EICC to contact. EICC Board members and staff will use the form to initiate contact and follow up. We hope to receive at least one form from every EICC member. Thanks for your help!
