case study.....
Durham Duplex saving £384 per year in disposal costs thanks to Why Waste
South Yorkshire Why Waste Co-ordinator, Albert Chamisa of The Business Environment Centre (the-BEC), visited Cutlery manufacturer - Durham Duplex in 2009 to explain the benefits of Why Waste and assess how the business was managing its waste.
As a result Durham Duplex registered their cardboard waste with www.whywaste.org.uk and was successfully matched with Gwyn Davies Recycling Services limited who now collect it for free as part of an ongoing contract.
As a result the company is saving £32 per month in collection charges and is diverting 4.4 cubic meters of cardboard and paper waste from landfill per month.
