And he gave it for his opinion, that whoever could make two ears of corn to grow upon a spot of ground where only one grew before, would do more essential service to his country, than the whole race of politicians. - Jonathan Swift  Lunch with Mastyer GArdeners

Dear Friends,

I was so pleased with the wonderful wedding we had here Saturday.  The bride and groom were married on the front lawn with the background of Torrey Pines Park, looking so fresh and young, and then all were able to relax and enjoy their luncheon.  We wish them the very best.

Our introduction to cheese making class is offered again here this coming Saturday by Virginia Masters.  Honestly, it can be so easy, not complicated, and a skill you'll have forever. If you're thinking about coming, please register early this week as last time the class filled with a waiting list. Click on Groups and Tours in the Green Store for signing up.   Cheese Making 101

The Carmel Valley News ran an article on the water rate increase meeting we had recently.  Thank you to Karen Billing for her coverage: Water Rate Increases

For some of you that suffer from lachanophobia, please do not panic when you see two bunches of 'greens' in your bag this week.  One of them is kale, a miracle food I've been preaching about for 25 years!.  Try making this easy and fast recipe for chips...unreal how good these are: Kale chips.  There are good variations for seasonings if you'll scroll down.

It's Squash season again and some of you will be receiving big ones!  Not to panic, they're very edible and here is a link with many recipes to choose from: Summer Squash Recipes

If any one needs cooking suggestions, please remember we now have Julie on board (we're trading deliveries for cooking and recipe support) and she'll be happy to help you.  Her blog is posted on our website or you may reach her and view her recipes here: http://nourishcommunity.com/blog/
