It is good to be alone in a garden at dawn or dark so that all its shy presences may haunt you and possess you in a reverie of suspended thought. ~James Douglas, Down Shoe Lane

Dear Friends,
Thank you so much for those of you that sent condolence messages.
The crops are changing with the seasons and last week was the first of the strawberries and I must say, they are delicious. We will send them as long as they are available and shortly we'll be offering blueberries and maybe blackberries as well. Blackberries are a little more perishable so the blackberry jam will be offered again in a few weeks. Maybe we'll do a class on making jam if there is an interest.
Looking over your ingredients for the week, the only thing I see that might cause problems in deciding what to do with it is the red mustard and not everyone is receiving. If served raw chopped in a salad, it has a 'hot' taste to it, like mild horseradish, so if you like it milder, the classic suggestion is to sauteing good oil (coconut oil) with garlic if you like, and toss with cooked hot pasta. Serve with grated good Parmesan and I think you'll be pleased.
If any one needs cooking suggestions, please remember we now have Julie on board (we're trading deliveries for cooking and recipe support) and she'll be happy to help you. Her blog is posted on our website or you may reach her and view her recipes here: http://nourishcommunity.com/blog/
Our next public events will be the Corgi Meetup at 10am on the 12th and the mozzarella cheese and pizza class will be at 1pm the same day. Please reserve for the cheese making class as soon as you can. The beginning class was popular in attendance and everyone was happy and left with their own cheese...

Please keep your notes and comments coming. I read them all.
Enjoy in good health.
