Dear Friends,

A shareholder of many years candidly wrote me last week and asked "Why are you promoting so many classes and tours?  Don't you have enough to do?"  I received in good humor as she has heard all these years my kvetching about how hard it is to be a small farmer.  So I wrote back (more than just this), because we can't keep up with continuous price hikes of insurance, water and now gasoline!  Now, we're no different than anyone else (unless you're one of the 1% and glad to have you) however, all that's on top of the gamble with weather, employees, pestilence and disease!  Good thing we love what we do (and I don't have to wear heels anymore!).

So this week we're having another tour at 1 to walk and talk and marvel at the many new things cropping up from the wonderful rain we're going to get this afternoon and the longer days.  We're offering this one at a 25% discount because I messed up on the Meetup site and neglected to post the normal charge. Please go to our  GreenStore to sign-up if you can join us. Children always get special attention.  Also please note our lowered prices for auxillary items.

Here's a simple recipe to use with your cooking green (courtesy of Sunset Magazine):

Greens and White Bean Soup

1 T olive oil,2 garlic cloves, 1 small onion, 1 medium carrot, 1 bunch greens, 1 can white beans (so easy to cook dried ones), 1 qt veggie broth, good Parmesan cheese.

Heat oil in med pot add arlic, onion and carrots,  Cook, stirring often, until softened about 3 min.  Add washed and chopped chard, beans and broth.  Cover and cook until very hot.  Serve with cheese.

We also do invite you to join our  Seabreeze Organic Farm Meetup for notices of upcoming event

Please keep your notes and comments coming.  I read them all.

Enjoy in good health.
