"Might I," quavered Mary, "might I have a bit of earth?"...Mr. Craven look quite startled. "Earth!" he repeated. "What do you mean?" "To plant seeds in- to make things grow- to see them come alive."
- Frances Hodgson Burnett

Dear Friends,
When the sun has broken through the cool marine layer today, all the plants and tree leaves seem to sparkle and the birds are particularly chatty as they tussle for territory and construct their nests. The red tail hawks are back shoring up their nests from last year and the owls too are heard in the early hours before sunrise. Living with and among the myriad of life forms on this piece of land has been my greatest source of joy next to coaxing and cultivating the nourishing food we consume.
If you're looking for a slightly new way to cook your broccoli, this recipe is a winnerBrilliant Sauted Broccoli. The only thing I change is a spray or two with our Bragg Liquid Amino Spray (tastes like soy sauce only without the salt!).
As for your cooking greens (if you received the Red Mustard, it has a sharp almost hot taste to it raw, but when cooked is delicious and power packed with viatmins) here is a recipe to make them in to a complete dish: Balsamic Glazed Chickpeas and Mustard (or other) Greens
Our next class is this Saturday at 10:00 here at the farm and we're very pleased to have Tilapia Mama our instructor. Sherilin has cultivated her passion for ordinary people to be able to raise their own source of this valuable protein in their own backyards. And grow vegetables on top of them even! Tilapia is a mild and nutritious fish - perfect for those concerned about the quality and availability.
Here is an article on her from Vision Magazine http://www.visionmagazine.com/archives/0909/Earthwatch.html.
This is a good opportunity for children to learn more about the food choices they have and invaluable to those seeking self-sustainability. Our classes are limited to 20 people for a quality experience and will include healthy snacks and a chance to see the farm in operation.
We've also started a Seabreeze Meetup and although not complete with pictures and all would like you to join. We'll be announcing our classes and workshops through it:

Please keep your notes and comments coming. I read them all.
Enjoy in good health.
