Coffee with the Mayor
Coffee MugTomorrow, Saturday, April 30 at 9 am, Mayor Dave Enslow will be at City Hall with hot coffee to discuss any issues on your mind.  There's no set agenda, so just drop in and chat with the Mayor and a few of your neighbors.

Celebrate spring, Earth Day, and the fact that your taxes are done. Get rid of the following items all in one place:

·  Sensitive documents to LeMay Mobile Shredding (limit three grocery bags per person, please)

·  Left-over prescriptions to Sumner Police for safe disposal

·  Light bulbs and batteries to McLendon Hardware

·  Old cell phones to YWCA for violence victims

·  Clothes, household items and electronics to Goodwill* 

·  Furniture, working appliances, white toilets & more to Tacoma Pierce County Habitat for Humanity ReStore

 

*Items will be resold so need to be in fairly good/working condition. Organizations may reject items that are not reusable.

Open house meeting on PSE electric system upgrade

 

A new transmission line is planned to improve service.  Puget Sound Energy invites you to an open house community meeting to learn about plans to increase capacity and provide additional electric reliability for customers in Pierce County. Their plans to upgrade the electric system in the area include the construction of a new 230 kilovolt transmission line between the White River transmission substation, located at 2120 Lakeland Hills Way in Bonney Lake, to the Alderton switching station, located at 14450 Old Military Road in Puyallup (see map).

Come to the public meeting to:

· Learn about the challenges facing the electric system in Pierce County

· Discuss PSE's plans to address those challenges with a new 230 kV transmission line

· Provide input on potential routes for the new line

· Ask questions

Improved bill design debuts this month
 
Your next Sumner utility bill will have a new and improved look!  It will be easier to see how much water you used and track your charges.

Golf for Life Returns 
 
Golf for LifeThe Third Annual Golf for Life returns on June 24, 2011.  Proceeds from the golf tournament benefit the American Cancer Society through the City of Sumner's Relay for Life team. 
  
Join us for a day of fun, including golfing and dinner, plus the chance to win such prizes as a Keurig machine from Green Mountain Coffee Roasters, Inc.; rounds of golf at Chambers Bay, Suncadia and Mt.
