Bridge Street bridge
April 18, 9 am - 3 pm Full Bridge Closure
No Trucks, Passenger Vehicles Only
The Washington State Department of Transportation needs to do their biennial full inspection of the Bridge Street bridge. In order to do that, they must fully close the bridge on Monday, April 18, 9 am - 3 pm. Readerboard signs wil be out to direct traffic around the detour to 24th Street and the West Valley Highway.
This inspection must also restrict the bridge traffic on Tuesday, April 19 to passenger vehicles only with no large trucks or busses allowed. The bridge will fully reopen to all traffic on Wednesday, April 20. (Please note that the bridge is not a designated truck route so even on normal days, "all traffic" means trucks use it for local access only.)
We apologize for the inconvenience, especially as this project coincides with impacts from the nearby Traffic & Main project. However, as the bridge ages, these inspections are very important to ensure the safety of all drivers and pedestrians who use it.
Thank you for your patience. If you have any questions, please contact the City Maintenance Shop at 253-299-5740.

This project is not related to the Traffic/Fryar & Main intersection construction. If you are signed up for e-updates on that project, we are sending you this alert as well since you are likely using these same roads. |
