Truck Restriction Coming Up

Truck Restriction

Bridge Street bridge
November 8, 8 am - 5:30 pm

Large trucks will be restricted from using the Bridge Street bridge for local deliveries on Monday, November 8, from 8 am to 5:30 pm.  This is for the Washington State Department of Transportation to conduct their routine inspection of the bridge.  The bridge will remain open to cars, SUVs and pick-up trucks.

We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience.  (Please note that the bridge is not a designated truck route so during all other times, it should be used by trucks for local access only.)  If you have any questions, please contact the City Maintenance Shop at 253-299-5740.

This project is not related to the Traffic/Fryar & Main intersection construction.  If you are signed up for e-updates on that project, we are sending you this alert as well since you are likely using these same roads.

Does this winter mean snow & high water?

The National Weather Service reports that this is a La Niņa year, which means a colder, wetter winter with a historically higher possibility of lowland snow.

Flooding is dependant on a number of factors, but the Weather Service is suggesting that the probability of flooding in both the Puyallup and White Rivers will be higher during this weather cycle.

In preparation for the winter weather, we recommend that you and your employees take some time to check your emergency plans and preparedness.  Read More
