We reviewed the billing system and processes and determined an opportunity to increase both billing accuracy and revenue via better cross-referencing of parcel information to county reference data. This improvement will result in several hundred thousand dollars per year of increased revenue. We also analyzed factors contributing to accounts receivable write-offs and compared accounts receivable and collection management practices and consequent revenue capture with peer entities. From this, we determined account management and collection process improvements that can lead to several million dollars of increased annual revenue capture.
