Opportunities

NEW OPPORTUNITY!

The Manhattan Empty Bowls Project

The K-State Women's Center is currently planning and organizing an annual spring philanthropy, The Empty Bowls Project. This national fundraiser is a grassroots movement to help fight against hunger.  Potters and other craftspeople, educators and others work with the community to create handcrafted bowls. Guests are invited to a simple meal of soup and bread. In exchange for a cash donation, guests are asked to keep a bowl as a reminder of all the empty bowls in the world. The money raised is donated to an organization working to end hunger and food insecurity. This year, they are extending an invitation to us to get our chapters directly involved in the project. If interested, your house can play a large role in the organization and implementation of the fundraiser.

If you want your house to get involved in the Manhattan Empty Bowls Project or are interested in learning about other ways you can help, please contact Adrienne Struble at [email protected].
