Processing Greek Affairs Bids on ICS: 
Make sure ALL new members are accepting bids properly on ICS in a timely manor. Several chapters are doing a poor job of following the bidding process, which creates administrative issues.  For information on the bidding process, click here!

IFC New Member Signing Day: April 30, 2010 is the first day that chapters can offer and accept a bid from a recruit that is currently a high school or transfer student.

Greek week is coming up in three weeks, April 18th-25th!  There was a meeting this past Monday with all of the Greek Week chairs, they can give you more information regarding Greek Week. All Greek Lunch: Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday at the Hale Library Quad from 11-1. You must have a Greek Week wristband to eat. Buy yours in the Greek Affairs Office.

Greek Awards Banquet: Sunday April 25th @ 6:30 pm in the Union Ballroom. The deadline to RSVP has passed.
Chapter Announcements:

Lambda Chi Alpha's:  Annual 3 V 3 Soccer Philanthropywill be happening on Sunday, April 18th. To register for this event please send an e-mail to nhowlett@ksu.edu.
 
Alpha Tau Omegawill be having a new philanthropy on April 24, 2010. It is called Cookin' Up the Little Apple and is a BBQ competition.

Triangle and Acacia:are selling numbered rubber ducks to friends, family and the K-State community during the month of April.  On April 25, these rubber ducks will race down a lengthy stretch of Pillsbury Crossing and prizes will be awarded to the first ducks to cross the line until we run out of prizes.  The grand prize this year is a Nintendo Wii, and runner-up prizes include Country Stampede tickets.  The remainder of prizes are donations from local businesses, such as free drinks at the Bluestem Bistro coffee shop or free ice cream at Coldstone Creamery.  Cost for purchasing ducks are $3 for one or $5 for two.  All money raised is donated directly to Manhattan's Habitat For Humanity.  Anyone interested in purchasing a duck to support our local community (and having a chance at great prizes) should feel free to contact:

Individuals purchasing ducks are welcome to attend the event on April 25 at 1pm at Pillsbury Crossing, but one does not need to be present in order to win a prize.  Anyone who purchases a duck is encouraged to provide contact information to make it easier for us to let them know they've won something.
 
Sigma Nu and Sigma Phi Epsilon:Will be putting on there annual Sunset Revival Benefit Concert on May 1, 2010.

This year, all profits from the day long concert will go to Lustgarten Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research

Do you know a great, inspirational student leader on campus? Do you know someone who is working hard to make K-State a better place? Is there someone you know that makes a difference in people's lives every day? If so, nominate this person for a K-State Hero award! K-State Hero awards were introduced upon completion of the K-State PROUD Student campaign, and serve to honor and recognize the students who work hard every day to make K-State the place it is. Five $500 awards will be given this spring to students who have shown their commitment to making K-State better through their leadership and service. Please nominate your K-State Hero by May 3rd!

Thank you for your interest in serving on the K-State Up 'til Dawn Executive Board!  We are excited about the upcoming year and what we plan to accomplish for the kids of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Please return your completed application to Greek Affairs (Union 214) by April 28 (for all Executive Board positions except Director and Vice Director).  You will need to set up an interview time (sign up in Greek Affairs) when you turn in your application.  If you have any questions about the positions, application process, or would like to turn the application in through email, please contact Diana Klote (dklote@ksu.edu) or Lyndsay Bruns (lbruns88@ksu.edu).

Flint Hills Pride Prom

On Saturday April 17th GRL in conjunction with Flint Hills PFLAG are hosting the Fourth Annual Flint Hills Pride Prom. This is an intergenerational prom intended for LGBT and allied high school students to attend a prom alone or with the date they choose in the attire they feel comfortable in. Cost is free in high school students, $10 for college students, and $20 for community members. We are looking for people and organizations who would like to support us by donating money or door prizes. Also people who are interested in attending can purchase a ticket by emailing me or flinthillprideprom@gmail.com 
Manhattan Gay Pride Parade On Saturday April 24th GRL will be in the First Annual Manhattan Pride Parade. The parade will begin at 2pm and will travel from the Mall, through Aggieville and to Triangle Park. We are inviting churches, businesses, groups, and organizations to join in the parade. For a fee of $20 your group and enter a float or walking group in the parade. The fee will help us to pay for parade fees, speakers and entertainers. Being in the parade will raise awareness for your organization while showing support for the LGBTQ community. Individuals are invited to walk for free. Information at ManhattanGayPride@gmail.com
 

UIFI Applications Now Available!

UIFI is the premier leadership development experience for undergraduate fraternity and sorority members and brings students together from across North America for an intensive five day institute.  At UIFI students are challenged to rethink the meaning and purpose of fraternity and sorority and provided the awareness and skills necessary to elevate their chapter, council, and community.  This summer, we are pleased to offer nine sessions of UIFI.  All sessions will be held at Indiana University in Bloomington, IN.
