athletic director John Currie will be the keynote speaker Sunday, April 18, at
the inaugural Order of Omega Up and Coming Greek Leaders Banquet. The banquet
is part of the 2010 K-State Greek Week activities. The 6 p.m.
event in the Student Union Flint Hills Room honors two freshmen and two
sophomores from each K-State fraternity and sorority chapter who have
demonstrated campus, chapter and community leadership, said Whitney Vaughn,
Order of Omega president. Chapters
sending up to four up and coming leaders to the Order of Omega banquet will
receive Greek Week participation points. Every freshman
and sophomore leader attending the event will be presented a small gift as
recognition of their leadership contributions to the K-State Greek community, said
Nick Kenney, banquet coordinator. Each
fraternity and sorority chapter is being asked to select their four up and
coming leaders by the Wednesday, April 14, deadline. The cost of the meal is
$15 per person and payment must be received by the deadline. The nomination
form and check to cover the cost of the meal, payable to the Order of Omega,
should be delivered to the organization's mailbox at the Greek Affairs Office
in the Student Union. Keynote
speaker John Currie is an alumnus of the Psi chapter of Delta Kappa Epsilon
