Volunteer with MLK Jr. Day of Service The K-State Volunteer Center of
Manhattan is asking for your assistance in promoting
Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service on January 18th, 2010. On this day the
K-State Volunteer Center of Manhattan is trying to engage and mobilize over 500
volunteers around the Manhattan Community. We are encouraging all K-State
students, staff, and faculty to join us to volunteer. This is an easy way
for Greek organizations to fulfill any
required service, or if they are just interested in community service. The
K-State Volunteer Center of Manhattan will have a list of possible service
sites with various community organizations and the volunteers just need to sign
up for a volunteer shift and go to the site and serve. In the past, we have
worked with community organizations, such as the Salvation Army, Boys and Girls
Club, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Flint Hills Breadbasket, and many more.
If you are interested, please contact Richie Weerts from the K-State Volunteer Center of Manhattan at www.ksu.edu/volunteercenter or 785-532-3670.

KEEP YOUR HEAT AT OR ABOVE 55 DEGREES TO PREVENT PIPE FREEZING AND BURSTING.
This Kansas winter has been extremely brutal on our chapter facilities. Numerous chapters are dealing with water damage resulting from frozen pipes and pipes that have broken. Keep your heat up and make sure you are checking on your pipes.
