can make a HUGE impact in someones life!
Be sure
to get plenty to eat and drink before donating, and to be sure you've got your
photo id when coming in to give! Contact Kristi Ingalls with questions at: ingallsk@usa.redcross.org.

courses that involve a group of K-State students and a professor traveling
abroad as part of the curriculum. These courses are offered during winter
break, spring break, and summer. Out-of-state students and international
students pay in-state tuition for these courses.

Help prevent the spread of influenza in your chapter
K-State and Greek Affairs is prepared to help your chapter
respond to sick members, but more importantly, we want to help you be aware of
how your chapter can stay healthy. Here's what you should know:
H1N1 flu is spread through respiratory droplets that are coughed
or sneezed into the air. It may also be spread by virus that remains on hands
after coughing or sneezing that gets spread to others through common use items
such as phones, doorknobs, desks and keyboards.
If you or one of your chapter sisters are sick, have them stay home to
avoid spreading illness. Encourage them not to go to class or chapter
functions and certianly do not require their attendance.
All members should use simple caution during the flu season: cough
or sneeze into your elbow or a tissue and properly dispose of used tissues.
Clean hands after using tissues with an alcohol-based hand sanitizer or soap
and warm water. Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth. Stay healthy by
eating a balanced diet, drinking plenty of water and getting adequate rest and
exercise.
Should members in your chapter become ill, please contact
the Greek Affairs office immediately.

Community Policy Enforcement
Please read the following message from Travis Stuewe, IFC Director
of Judicial Affairs, tcstuewe@ksu.edu
Attention Chapter Presidents, Social Chairs, Risk Managers, & Advisors:
Due to several events this semester, culminated by events this
past weekend, the Interfraternity Council would like to remind chapters that
hard alcohol is not allowed on Chapter premises at all during events,
registered or unregistered. We will be enforcing a zero tolerance policy. This
means a few things. First, as Director of Judicial Affairs, I will now be
accompanying the SRC to check registered social events. I will walk through and
make sure that no members are in their own rooms, even those not part of the
Designated Party Area, taking shots of hard alcohol. If I find such actions
taking place, the event will be shut down... no questions asked; and judicial
action may follow.
Secondly, I am asking that Sorority Presidents take the time to
educate your women on the expectations that the Interfraternity Council has for
our chapters' events. We have found that many of our sorority women are unaware
of the rules we require our men too follow and they may be less likely to take
part in violations if they knew the consequences. These rules include no
drinking games, no underage drinking, that their name must be on the guest
list, and that everyone has a 6-beer limit at BYOB events.
Any questions regarding this issue can be
directed at myself or Brandon Cutler. |
