Greek alumni reception to welcome Dr. Schulz, K-State's new president 
All greek alumni are invited by the K-State Alumni Fraternity Council and the Flint Hills Panhellenic Council to a fraternity and sorority alumni reception to meet K-State's new president, Kirk H. Schulz.

What: Greek Alumni Reception with President Kirk Schulz
When: 5:30 to 7 p.m., Thursday, August 6
Where: Manhattan Country Club, 1531 North 10th Street
Cost: $10 per person
Reservation deadline: Thursday, July 30

Recruitment video to aid PNMs in answering recruitment questions
In an effort to help those unaffiliated students who still stick on the fence as they consider joining a sorority and to answer questions of those already signed up for recruitment, the Panhellenic Directors of Recruitment have developed a short video to share about the recruitment and membership experience.  Take a look...you'll enjoy what they have created.  
Recruitment update!
Formal Membership Recruitment enrollment has passed 550 and there is still one week left to register!  We're looking good to beat last year's all time record of 611 recruitment participants.

The bid day celebration is planned for Friday, August 21 at 8:30 p.m. on the lawn in front of Anderson Hall.  Dr. Bosco and other special guests plans to attend and offer congratulations to all new members.

FMR 2009 TShirtBy popular demand of those who have seen the recruitment t-shirts Potential New Members may purchase when registering for sorority formal membership recruitment, we're making the t-shirts available to you.  T-shirts feature the K-State Greek logo "be you. be greek." and the K-State powercat printed on slate colored American Apparel v-neck t-shirts.  Shirts sell for $20 each.  All orders placed by August 1 will be available prior to recruitment.

Help publish the Greek Telephone Directory, work for The ZOI
The ZOI Greek Telephone Directory is looking for a few good interns!  The three internships include a ZOI On-Campus Brand Ambassador, a Marketing/Promotions Intern and a  Writing Intern. These are part-time positions and are unpaid.  Please pass along the following information to any interested persons.  For more information, contact Nancy Pienkowski at np@thezoi.com or 310-882-4030, x203. 
 
ZOBA Writer Internship
This internship is perfect for those of you with a passion for writing! You will be responsible for daily blogging and article submissions that will be published on local homepages for thezoi.com, nationwide in the Greek lifestyle area of the website and perhaps even within the printed directory for nationwide distribution. You'll write on topics including arts, entertainment, pop culture, sports, health, Greek life, travel and more. This is a great way to get published, build a portfolio, and get creative on a daily basis!
 
ZOBA Marketer Internship
 We put you in charge of promoting our new brand and products at your school. You will actively and aggressively promote The ZOI brand via chapter presentations, social networks, word-of-mouth, student activity boards, email, guerilla marketing and more. It will be your responsibility to network with council and chapter leaders and encourage utilization of the website's chapter promotion and management capabilities. Discover how a website can make you money by learning to read and analyze online traffic reports. Learn hands-on online marketing techniques without having to sit in an office all day.
Alpha Delta Pi chapter receives top honors at Grand Convention
Upon returning from Alpha Delta Pi's national Grand Convention in Orlando, Florida, chapter president, Chelsey Coen was excited to report good news. The Alpha Eta (K-State) chapter  was honored with the ADPi Golden Lion, the sorority's highest award. The award is only given out every two years and this year mark the third time the K-State chapter has won the award (previous wins include 2001 and 2007).  The chapter was one of 11 Alpha Delta Pi chapters to receive this honor.
Manhattan Alumnae chapter of Gamma Phi Beta host philanthropy
Gamma Phi Beta alumae chapter hosted a three-on-three basketball tournament with proceeds benefiting Camp Fire USA, the national philanthropy of the sorority, as well as teh Boys and Girls Club.  Learn more about what the group has been doing in summer 2009 issue of The Crescent, on page 23.

The summer 2009 issue of The Kappa Alpha Theta Magazine, a publication of Kappa Alpha Theta, features a familiar K-State face.  Turn to page 10 to see a picture of Kelsey Frasier, past president of the K-State Theta chapter, showing Theta pride on the Great Wall of China. 
Pi Beta Phi chapter well represented at biannual convention
Katie Neideree, Pi Beta Phi chapter president shared great news following the sorority's biannual convention recently took place in Grapevine, Texas. Kansas Betas were well represented with four members attending. The chapter received the second highest ranking as a "Beta" chapter for 2009.  The chapter received "Excellence in Panhellenic" and was one of 10 chapters to receive a "Spirit Award." Pi Beta Phi elected new officers at convention and the international sorority now has a Kansas Beta serving on it's Grand Council. Cindy Rice Svec will serve as Grand Vice President of Alumnae. Kansas Beta is also represented in Regions 4 and 6 with Alumnae Regional Directors, Marla Neely Wulf and Patty Davisson Brown.  Outstanding work, K-State Pi Phi! 
Sigma Kappa leaders and advisors take a trip to College Office Training School
Just this past week Lindsey McKown, Sigma Kappa's chapter vice president of membership, Regan Rose chapter recruitment advisor, Pam Mosher, chapter advisor,  Jenny Callahan, chapter corporation board president, and Jennifer Cassells, chapter president returned from Sigma Kappa's national College Officer Training School in Indianapolis, Indiana.  There, the chapter's representatives were excited to learn about Sigma Kappa's new visual identity campaign, a new Foundation Campaign (the Ultra Violet Campaign), and other exciting new resources for the sorority. The chapter was recognized for being one of the top six donating chapters to the national foundation, and the chapter's corporation board was recognized for being in top five for overall performance. What a fantastic weekend for the Theta Tau chapter!
