Greek Affairs summer schedule
Though most students have left Manhattan for the summer, the Greek Affairs is open for business.  The Greek Affairs office is open 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday during the summer.  If you are in Manhattan stop on in...if you're away, drop us a call!

Most of the Panhellenic officers have too left Manhattan for the summer.  Except your recruitment team that is - Katie and Ellen, PHC Directors of Recruitment will be holding weekly hours in the Greek Affairs office.

The Greek Affairs office will be closed next Monday, May 25, as well as July 3 for summer holidays.
Recruitment registration in full swing
To date, 105 participants have registered for Formal Membership Recruitment.  As their information is verified, chapters will be able to view "recruit" information on ICS.  Please expect to begin seeing participant information in early June.

Greek Affairs and Panhellenic Council prepares for summer orientation
K-State will host new students and their families all through the month of June for Orientation and Enrollment, and Greek Affairs will be a part of it all.  Every morning of Orientation and Enrollment Greek Affairs staff members will host 3 Greek Life sessions for parent and family members of new students.  In the afternoon, new students will be able to engage with the Panhellenic recruitment leaders at the browsing fair.

In addition, the Greek community will be highlighted throughout Wildcat Warm-up to ensure new students are aware of all the awesome things happening in our community and how to be a part!
Help us find hosts for summer recruitment events
Once again this year, the Panhellenic Council will take their show on the road!  The Panhellenic recruitment team is busy making plans to travel around Kansas and surrounding states to share about the sorority community and recruitment process with potential new members and their families.

We need your help!  Do you know of an alumna who may be interested in hosting our team ater home or local community center?  Let us know.  Host locations need to be large enough to hold approximately 20 persons.  Hostesses are asked to prepare light refreshments, which are provided by the Panhellenic Council.  The Greek Affairs staff and Panhellenic recruitment team manages all the promotion and participant registration for the event.  Let us know if you are aware of an interested hostess by emailing Ellen Burke, PHC Director of Recruitment.
Race and Ethnicity report shows K-State Greek community is home to a diverse population
A recently compiled report shares the Greek community is home to members of many of K-State's diverse populations.  Within the sorority community, the largest non-white population is reported to be the Hispanic population.  Sorority sisters reporting to be Hispanic make up over 1% of the total sorority population.  Populations near 1% of the overall population include the Mexican-American, Asian, and American Indian populations.

More studies will be conducted to see if this report reflects a changes in the overall K-State sorority population or not.
